Does anybody ever eat mudfish ( aka bowfin )? This is a serious question since I'm running into a whole bag full of these downhere.

I don't think they are very good to eat. I have never tried eating one even though I have caught a bunch of them. I was always taught that they were not for eating.

    EAT a bowfin?

    YUK!!! ;0

Here in SC the DNR does not recommend eating bowfin in ANY amounts due to that species' ability to store high levels of toxins esp. mercury.
