Where's that really big earthquake when you need it? I was born and raised on the dry side around the Yakima area. 50 years ago it was outstanding, no crime, plenty of work, absolutely beautiful. Today, Inslee sets there just figuring how to legally steal from the residents of the state while the transplants in Seattle pat him on the back and encourage him. I've lived in Idaho for the last 21 years, and only return to visit my family in the Yakima area. Idaho is pretty insulated from the liberal stupidity, but recently not immune. If you come my way, all I can say is,"Welcome to a free state".

I was also considering moving to WA from CA and was looking at Poulsbo but a friend who lives is Silverdale said things were changing.

Now among that states I am considering are ID, TX, and TN.

You sell your CA real estate and you can buy two or three properties outright. I was hunting elk 25 years ago in CO and one man had to tell me that the CO acreage he wanted to buy since he was a boy was bought by a Californian who paid twice as much as it was worth.

Another story I know is where a newly retired CA prison guard bought acreage up on the Canadian border and paid three times more than what it is worth. Silly Californians with money.

That is happening in Montana also. It's pricing locals out of the market.

I generally don't like cities any larger than Wenatchee or Omak. Spokane is usually only an airport delivery or pickup of our kid, a meal and scoot. BTW My daughter loves the Palouse and the big sky over there. I do too certain times of the year,,,, Like between snow seasons.

I'll stand up for Californians on that one, Eastside area drivers are on a whole other level of suck compared to the typical CA driver.

I have done some reading and some search to not find a "correct" answer.
Things are happening in my life, and moving to WA state is a semi-viable option.
For anyone who has done the move from CA, or other state that requires gun registration, what needs to happen? Just take them with me and not do anything?
My understanding from the reading I have done, is that they do not have to be registered, except for buying from dealer, and not PPT?

I'll still take stupid drivers over enraged, selfish, and homicidal California drivers any day of the week.

When I lived in the Prescott, AZ area(taken over by Californians for years), I encountered road rage EVERY time I drove anywhere. Rarely was it directed at me, but I saw someone do something completely uncalled for EVERY SINGLE DAY. Didn't matter if I was driving to Phoenix, or driving to Home Depot across town.

It was just pathetic.

I got used to it. Forget about defensive driving; the best defense is a good offense...

Then I moved up here. I've seen two incidents of road rage in 4 years.

Yes, they drive under the speed limit for no reason. Yes, they don't turn their lights on in fog, and yes, you can be stuck at a 4-way stop for an incredibly ridiculous amount of time because no one knows the right of way rule and are ridiculously polite about not going first.

I'll take that over getting beer bottles thrown at me and death threats simply because the dump truck I was driving was too slow leaving an intersection. And yes, I called the police. They didn't even bother to respond.

Out of state plates here are a guarantee of driving less than half the speed of traffic in winter. White knuckles on the wheel. Eyes bulged.

When I first moved back to Idaho from Arizona, I drove a 2012 Ford Fusion with, of course, Arizona plates. I'm sure people behind me assumed that I didn't know how to drive in the snow. Not that there were many people that got close enough to see my plates since I still drove faster than most of the local libs in their Subarus with COEXIST and Bernie2016 stickers...

Seattle and King County is the cancer. The rest of the Evergreen State, especially on the east side, is different. (Well, that is what I would like to believe.) We were thiking about going back to WA after retirement, but I guess we are probably moving to Northern ID instead....

I did that exact thing. Moved here from Cali in 08. I wish I had chosen another state. Came here because the in-laws lived here and me and the misses had a support system to get out of Cali... This state is on the verge of being cali-light.

Didn't have to register anything, had my CC permit in 2 weeks.

I've thought for a while that it's too bad states can't have an electoral college kind of system with the counties so one large liberal population center can't screw up the rest of the state.

On the topic of driving, I understand how people generalize and assume that XX people drive like idiots, etc. But like 99.999% of things, not everything is as it appears. I have spent time in AZ (sadly/mostly, and in PHX area while I was going to tech school), prior to that I thought people in CA drove like F-tards.. not even a comparison.
I have traveled across the country and through most states. I lived in FL, and Spotucky, WA, and had to drive in ID. Just as idiotic as everyone else. People in FL like to run through red lights, people in ID act entitled and do WTF they want, and most people in Spo/WA drove like pansy's when it rained/snowed. They acted like they had never done it before.

I did read a few different things attempting to figure out the non-res permit.

I figure while I am there, to make to to apply for non-res. CCW.
Is my DL and SSN all I need for proof of my identity?
I know there is the app and fingerprinting and whatnot.

Keep in mind that not only is the liberal controlled state legislature working hard to take away gun rights, they are now raising gas prices by instituting a "carbon tax" that starts around an extra ten cents a gallon and goes up another two cents every year until it hits thirty cents.

Washington voters rejected that tax twice when on the ballot, but then the idiot leftists voted in a majority of democrats and they now are pushing through legislation. It's for the children...
