Lose those California plates ASAP. They hate Californians. Why, I don't know. A little reflection is in order.
You sell your CA real estate and you can buy two or three properties outright. I was hunting elk 25 years ago in CO and one man had to tell me that the CO acreage he wanted to buy since he was a boy was bought by a Californian who paid twice as much as it was worth.

Another story I know is where a newly retired CA prison guard bought acreage up on the Canadian border and paid three times more than what it is worth. Silly Californians with money.

You don't have to register them in Wa. Just don't bring any Ca. liberal ideas with you when you come north.
As an original Washingtonian (but now living in Virginia), A FRIGGIN MEN! Gawd those displaced liberal POS Californians (not all of course) escape their hell whole (started in the mid 70s) ,and bring their stupid ideas to my birth state and have ruined it!

As far as moving out of state, NV is the only other place I am considering at this point. I would like to own a house somday, and unless I win the lotto it is not happening in CA.
The hardest part of all this, is convincing my gf about moving. We have been together for almost a decade, and known each other for twice that.
In regards to your GF, my time in the military taught me that most daughters are mommies little babies and have to be close to mommy to suck the proverbial breast, and that is that. Good luck getting her to grow up, I hope you do.

This is a thought. Keeping options open.
I dislike the process of moving, so prefer to do it as little as possible. I know that moving living wherever is not forever unless that choice is made.
I like WA as well as ID. I need to be close to the water.

You thought about moving farther north up the coast? Like Eureka? Small homes under $200K and that would put you at about a $1150 monthly mortgage.
She loves her mom, but doesn't absolutely need to be near her. Her younger brother is her mom's favorite, and you can tell when they are together.
She doesn't like change. But, I think she finally realizes that it may be time to move on.

Took me 25 years to see Spokane after moving to WA..... Was not impressed.

The left coast WA is as warped as MOON BEAM was in his first term. I like Idaho a lot and would like to move there one day. But I will have to wait until my wife passes because she aint goin!

Her sisters live in Seattle area...... I am doomed!!!!

The liberals from CA ruined WA. They can have the state now...
You do realize that CA has voted Republican in more presidential elections since 1900 that WA has, right? :p WA's also voted Democrat more times in the last 10 presidential elections that CA (barely, though, since CA has voted Dem in those elections since '92).

WA is an amazing state in many ways, gelogically...but what many posters here have said is true...the 3 large counties of Pierce, King and most of Snohomish are moonbat left leaning, and they choose our politicians. The city of Seattle has just elected a replacement for their pedophile mayor, and she's nutty as well.
The governor is dumber than raw hamburger, bought and paid for by special interest and currently proposing the largest tax increase in state history to save the Earth. We have the worst, most corrupt DOT in the country, so I'd really reconsider anywhere west of the Cascades. Home prices and rent are nuts in the greater Seattle metropolis, gas prices are top 3 highest in country because of gas taxes.
If you elect to live in eastern WA, people are wonderful and politically grounded...but you're still at the mercy of a Democrat ****wad controlled state and Idaho is very similar without the politics.
I've lived here my whole life, love the State...but I'll be leaving within the next 5-8yrs because of the leftist nutjobs in control of this states government.

Which changes nothing. Liberals started flooding WA in the 1970s and they ruined the state - which had very stable and sensible policies and housing prices before the moonbats started arriving.

Like Jay Inslee who was born in Seattle. That 54.4% of the vote that put him in office must have been all from transplanted Californians. Just like all the votes in every one of the last 7 presidential elections that went Democrat. Because ******** are never born in Washington are they?

Washington used to have one of the only Democrat's I would ever have voted for, Henry "Scoop" Jackson. He was a Defense Hawk. Voting for that Democrat was not the same as today, there is no good Democrats, none.

Washington is full. Try Texas.
Negative ghost rider the pattern is full, repeat the pattern is full! We have more transplants than we need. Looking into ways to remedy the situation!
