Yes, but the ROE where our soldier couldn't open fire unless they were fired upon were changed under Obama so...

With relatively few exceptions, we (the military) has almost always required PID to engage the enemy with any type of fires, especially IDF.

There are some situations where we could fire before being fired upon, but someone simply having an AK is not one.

They should have stuck to the book Red Platoon. They left out most of the battle in order to tug at the heart strings.

We'll because generals and the military can be extremely stupid sometimes. Both Korea and Vietnam had De-Militarized Zones, how can a war be fought with a DMZ. Then there's the "Rules Of Engagement" and Vietnam had many especially for pilots.

Khe Sahn, a 77 day siege, my unit was there(Foxtrot 2nd Battalion 26th Regiment 3rd MarDiv) but I wasn't in country yet, hooked up with them in late April 1968.

As far as I'm concerned, War should be the very last choice, but if that's what's chosen then NO RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, ANYTHING GOES, NO TIES, NO DMZ's, VICTORY or DEATH. Course that will never happen beacuse of IDIOT WEAK-MINDED POLITICIANS WHO RISK NOTHING.
