Nice, just started the first episode. My girlfriend might not be so excited to see me watch this!

I just watched the first episode tonight, I liked it! Yah you can tell thats some of it seems scripted, but it is a show. I set the DVR to record the series and will check out some more! Lots of Bears out there!

First episode was good, will watch the others as I get time. Good to see shows about how life used to be. Didnt really enjoy seeing the guy on the manure spreader, brings back horrible memories.......

These guys are living in subdivisions with all the amenities. It's not really mountain man stuff. I know a lot of real ones up here who are completely off the grid. Some are also off their rocker, but that's another story.

I was kinda impressed by the guy from North Carolina particularly. Dont know if anyone else noticed but the nails the kid reclaimed from the scrap wood while Eustace was out hunting were all hand forged nails. anyone that has the patience to forge their own nails gets my respect.

Watched it a couple of times. I am impressed with the pilot/trapper in Alaska. To go it alone up near the artic circle, the guy has my respect.
