When I see stuff like this..
it makes me wonder how the human species has survived as long as it has.
"There won't be humans in 500 years. Enough people choke themselves when they ********** we gave it a name. We ain't a species made to last."
"...police death squads are operating with impunity across Honduras, taking the law into their own hands and acting as judge, jury and executioner."
They should make a movie about this! Oh wait

I couldn't even look at the whole thing. Truly sad and sickening.
All in a country where guns are heavily regulated, and the citizens are left defenseless. How's that working out for you, Honduras?
Guns are just a tool, poverty is the problem.
I read the entire article. Kinda seems to me that the drug trade might also have something to do with the situation. Along with a corrupt police force. And from what I understand corruption is standard operating procedure in many of the countries down that way.
The article said people can own up to five personal guns in that country so the honest people aren't totally disarmed. Out gunned maybe, and most of them probably can't afford to own a personal gun anyway.
And for the record I'm against legalizing drugs in this country.
let me guess, atlanta, detroit, memphis, or chicago?
Well, they're welcome here in the land of opportunity, fruit, amnesty and the Dream Act.
Atlanta in 2010 had a homicide rate of 17.7 per 100,000 people. That's nowhere near the top.
"Taken out: The dead body of a man is seen after he was shot by gang members. Lax laws allow civilians to own up to five personal guns"
Oh noes, it's the gun laws, or lack thereof that's causing all this according to the dailymail.
Nola beats those easily, per capita. Nola is murder city, usa, the others just get more media attention.
52/100, 000 was the most recent number I could find.
57.6 from wiki 2011
They said each house can have 5 guns. You would consider a house defended by 5 AKs to be defenseless?
I had a co-worker from Honduras. He said that their gun laws are pretty much only enforced in the cities and that flea markets openly sell guns in the rural areas.
Not much different than Chicago on a summer weekend.
San Pedro Sula had a homicide rate of 169 per 100,000 people according a another article on CNN.
Chicago while very dangerous,is not anywhere near that.
When most individuals make less than $6 per day ($2,115 per capita), what percentage of law abiding households do you think can actually afford guns? I said the citizens are left defenseless because only the upper elite can actually afford to defend themselves. I've been to Honduras twice and the amount of widespread poverty is humbling.
The point is, a country with heavily regulated gun laws does not automatically turn into a violence-free utopia like Washington wants us to believe. Mexico is another example.
Socialized gun program?
