I expect to acquire a new (to me) G43X MOS in a few days. It comes with an IWB Kydex holster that should work fine at 3:30 and maybe as an appendix carry. I'll need to test it in those positions.

Meanwhile, I've grown very fond of the Galco Ultimate Second Amendment that I've been using for 27s and 26s off and on since about 2008. Easy to stash between the driver's seat and center console while driving and also easy to slip inside my waistband (with gun holstered) before I enter a big box store, grocery store or restaurant ... what I consider places with a higher threat level. It's even tuckable, a feature I seldom use because I rarely tuck my shirts since retiring back in 2010.

To the best of my knowledge, Galco quit making these horsehide rigs a few years ago, so I doubt I can find one to fit the 43X. What are similar options that meet the criteria I just mentioned? I kind of like the feel of smooth leather against my bare skin and I like that the USA rides very deep for little to no printing. I'm not overly concerned about draw speed or re-holstering the gun. Mostly, I'm interest in comfort and convenience.

I appreciate the wisdom of GT members on this topic.

Can’t help you if you want leather. I’ve had exceptional performance from JM Custom Kydex no matter what configuration I buy. Use his #2 AIWB fir my G19, VP9, G48, and 365Xl. The other maker I’ve started liking a lot is Pfilster.

Also used Dark Star Gear.

All are kydex though.

If you have little or no experience with AIWB carry, then I suggest reading and heeding PHLSTERs "The Basics of Concealment Mechanics".

The mechanics of successful AIWB carry are almost completely opposite from everything most people know about conventional OWB and IWB holsters and belts, for example: bigger guns carry better and more comfortably AIWB than smaller guns (due to greater surface area and distribution of weight), and a flexible belt is better than a heavy rigid belt (less bulk to conceal and allows for freer movement).

Delta - I've been carrying AIWB for quite a few years in the Galco USA (see first post), but that holster isn't available for the 43X, even on Amazon or ebay, which is why I'm asking for GT input. I scanned the info on basics of concealment and learned some things.

Has anyone had success with Remora or Sticky holsters? I tried one a few years ago and it seemed to work its way up and out over a period of time, especially while sitting. Thoughts on them?

I have the Aliengear AIW holster for my 43X, and I am not happy with it. The fabric part that is between the slide and my (fat) belly feels too high. I will probably order a we the people holster for it
as I have had really good luck with that brand. FYI the sticky holsters are nice, but they can be hard to access if you are overweight like me.

jwagess - I hear you about the belly. I keep thinking I'm going to lose about 10-15 pounds, and I seldom can break the 200-pound barrier. Thanks for the input. Perhaps if I succeed, I'll try a Sticky holster.

I have a Galco stow n go I like a lot. I used it when I carried my G26L.
I went P365XL and was a lefty so needed a holster fast so I went with kydex off ebay.
Totally fine for $20 but I got a DeSantis SlimTuk at the NRA show and it is pretty comfortable that I use it 98% of the time now. $30 is hard to argue with. Of course it isn't leather like you prefer but you can try it and if you hate it probably sell it pretty easily.

Couple other options. Shown for a Glock and Ruger, but readily available for a 43X
-Milt Sparks Summer Special II
-R. Grizzle Southern Man (in horsehide)
Either is a great choice

You've been using your Galco Ultimate Second Amendment as an AIWB holster?

Delta - Absolutely, almost exclusively, because I like the straight drop configuration.

The few times I've tucked in a shirt, I've actually threaded my belt from the opposite direction, starting on the right side, so the tag end would cover the little black tab that is visible only at the bottom of my black belt. It would take a VERY discerning eye to spot the gun. However, to wear that comfortably for any length of time, I think I'd have to lose at least 10-15 pounds and use the flush magazine plate or a GEE plate.

If I'm going to wear at 3:30 in the 'valley' of my side, I will usually wear a Kydex rig with a cant and an untucked shirt with some kind of print, like a Hawaiian shirt. I can get away with a white t-shirt wearing it AIWB if the wind isn't blowing into my face and printing the gun. This is my preferred method of carry due to the discreet nature of a draw stroke in a crowded environment against an active shooter ... I'd like to ease behind something that would mask the draw even further, preferably some solid cover (not just concealment). Sweeping back a shirt for a 3:30 draw would certainly telegraph what's coming next to a perpetrator.

Hard to predict the scenario, so I will do the best I can if called upon.

I carry AIWB with the leather https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0792HFRR2 (molded for the G43X) & attach it to an inner belt. The whole rig, including the grip, rides below my waistband, although you can adjust the belt to ride higher.:

Although not shown in the above image, I usually carry a dual mag pouch on the other side of the midline. It's totally concealed:

I'm a big fan of "sidecar" style holsters; not only are you able to carry a spare mag in a consistent position, but the extra mag spreads the weight evenly across your torso. For most people this actually allows it to conceal even better than just a standalone gun/holster. I've used a few brands and have found Trex-Arms to be my favorite.

(And I'm ~20-25lbs overweight, after having lost 30lbs, and have carried comfortably the entire time this way; it just takes some practice)
