What do you consider to be the most beautiful and yet obtainable gun made?
To me it's the Smith & Wesson model 29 ( Dirty Harry .44 Magnum ) in bright blue with a six inch barrel.

A 4" barreled Python with Royal Blue finish is a thing of beauty. Still obtainable, but not cheap. I bought my Dad one a few years ago, and it is drop-dead gorgeous.

I'm guessing that most people are going to think it's a revolver. Colt Pythons are beautiful but the cylinder rotates backwards.

I am sure a bunch of guys will jump in shortly with their Browning HPs and pimped out 1911s. :wavey:

For current production guns, I think the HK 45 and P30 are pretty sharp looking pistolas. I used to HATE the looks of the "Spiderman" grip, but now think it looks great. Can't wait to get one.

Forget pimping...I think that the classic lines of an off-the-shelf 1911 can make for a very good looking firearm.

I think 1911's are pretty but more a utilitarian type of pretty. Much like Glock, a well constructed hammer that does it's job well.

My vote would be for the Browning Hi-Power.

There have been a number of guns that were "made" very beautiful, such as a hand crafted, case hardened Shiloh Sharps replica or a bolt gun with a beatiful custom stock but for the gun itself, the simple lines....

    The M-14 (and many variants)

The M1 Garand is close behind. For handgun it is hard to beat the lines of most 1911's.

Go to the website for Bowen Classic Arms and check out the light weight Colt SAA with engraving by Don Love and walnut grips by Roy Fishpaw. Beauty doesn't come close to describing that revolver.
