Greetings It's come time to swap out the plastic safety on my Mossberg 500. There are several good options out there and I'd like to get some of your opinions/experiences. First up is the standard metal safety that has a slightly rased "nub". Looks good, priced right. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=52902/sku/Moss__500_Safety_Button I'm also interested in the Vang oversized safety. It's also metal and I've heard good things about their products. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=43437/sku/Mossberg_Oversized_Safety Most interesting (and ugly) is the Cavalry Arms oversized safety. This caught my eye because I have a Knoxx Spec Ops stock on my 500 so reaching the safety is a pain. This may help the problem but I'm concerned it's too big and I'll be made fun of at the range. :embarassed: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=50865/sku/SST_590_Safety What do you guys think? Have you replaced the plastic on your Mossbergs? FWIW I don't even use the safety unless loading/unloading or transporting.
