Are these two the best choices when it comes to pump shotguns?
Which do you prefer and why?
here is a link
both are good, mas mura lang ang mossberg yata
ghost ring sights? =mossberg
para mas madali............toss coin lang yan
Both are mostly at par, by most accounts. Both have proven to be tough enough for military use. Roughly same price.
Though there are some small things that might sway the choice for one over the other. They say the Remington has more aftermarket accessories available. One feature many LEO's like about the Mossberg is you can unload the magazine without having to rack the slide to eject each round. You can push on the lever holding the rounds in the magazine in place and just remove each round by hand. Can you do this with the 870?
Racking the 12 gauge rounds through the extractor/ ejector can damage the plastic rounds.
ang rem 870 equivalent ng 1911 when it comes to parts, accessories and customizing.
ewan ko ba bakit binenta ko yung 870P magnum police model ko! really stoofid of me to dispose of that shot gun!
Sayang nga Doc.
I'm also thinking of getting a shotgun and same as you jun, i've narrowed it down to these 2 models. The only reason i'm leaning towards the mossberg is that its safety is ambidextrous, important for a lefty like me.
Then as usual, i will have to modify it to look something like this.
The six shot mossberg 590 sells for about 37k at twin pines.
How much is the remington 870 here?
This is a no brainer.
Buy them both !!
Go on...they won't get jealous..
which is better, pump or auto?
pump or auto?
the best choice would be shotguns that work on semi-auto and pump.
Benelli has models that work on both systems but they are expensive, about 90k for the benelli m3 s90, and a bit heavier.
if you want the reliability of a revolver, a pump shotgun is the wise choice. plus, these are on the more affordable side.
but then again, today's autoloading shotguns are probably as reliable as semi-auto pistols now.
it will just boil down to personal preference.
me, i think the mossberg 590a1 would be the best choice out there. Eight (8) plus 1 capacity, ghost ring sights, and a pistol grip would be a good set up.
Here's a nice photo of a Wilson Tactical Remington 870.
Remington 870 Magnum 12 ga. 3" Chamber with an 18" Cylinder Bore Barrel
MMC Adjustable Ghost-Ring Rear Sight, Ramp Front Sight with Tritium
Extended Magazine Tube, 7 Round Total Capacity
Sidesaddle Shell Carrier, 4 or 6 Round Capacity
Sure-Fire Picatinny Rail Forend
Sure-Fire M900 Vertical Foregrip Light
AR-15/M16 Style Collapsible Buttstock and Pistol Grip
High Visibility Follower
Extra Power Heavy-Duty Stainless Magazine Spring
Magazine Band with Sling Stud
Tacti-Kote (Black or O.D.)
An Eotech mounted on top of this Knight's Armament 870 RAS would be better.
