A friend of mine just bought a used Mossberg Bullpup 12 gauge and I had the opportunity to shoot it yesterday. I was not impressed with the loosey-goosey slide, the sights, and the overall clumsiness of the weapon. Anyone else have one that can fill us in on whether or not this is normal?

I was shopping for my first pump shotgun a few weeks ago. I was deciding between a Remington 870 and a Mossberg 500. Every single Mossberg 500 I tried was loose on the pump part.

I did end up with a Mossberg 500, because of a sale.

I owned one briefly that I got in a trade. That one and the other one's that I have shot over the years are exactly as you described.

I think there is an aftermarket stock kit or two to convert a 500 to a bullpup configuration, as well.

I tried a Muzzlelite kit on my 870 once. Don't ever do it.

How was the trigger on the Mossberg? Worst ever or just merely terrible?

If you are asking me, I haven't got a clue. My 590 is still in factory config, except for the side-saddle and light..

I had one of those for awhile. Traded it off years ago.

The trigger was terrible, it was clumsy to pump, and the grip safety didn't always disengage.
