    Swedish Elk Hound holds his own against a pair of wolves.

    Viewer discretion advised;

    The dog survived and is alive and well.

    We are seeing lots more wolves here in North Idaho, they are decimating the Elk herd, I hate wolves.

    Be nice to see a candlelight vigil for the Elk!

    Wow, that is cool and creepy at the same time. Interesting how there was so little sound... little growling or barking.

    You sure the dog is OK? Looks like he was being eaten at the end.

    The dog is in critical condition, it's unknown if he survives the encounter. If so, he will never Hunt again due to his severe injuries wich are seperated nerves and heavy bites to his legs. Heard that yesterday from a Doghandler here.

    The dog would have already been dead but he wore one of these protection vests

    I read that the dog was wearing a "protection vest". I've certainly seen blaze orange vests for dogs, but I've never seen one of those. I don't think it would occur to me to put such a vest on a dog... is that for protecting the dog from animals like wolves, or from kicks and such from moose?

    Originally they were made for protection from our Wild Boar. But they bite pretty good too.

    Do the ID wolves ever get shot by accident? They cause trouble here in NM, animal rights wackos love wolves.

    Yes the dog is fine;

    "People arrived on the scene and the pair of wolves disappeared. The owner, Tommy Berglund saw the bite wounds and carried her out 700 meters to the nearest road. The veterinarian was an half hour drive.

    The dog had one large wound and fourteen smaller ones which had to be sutured. The remaining fifteen to twenty were left open to drain."

    The get shot and trapped and killed any way possible.
    Yes the lib's get all bent out of shape.
    Wolves kill the pregnant cow Elk, eat the babies, and leave the rest.
    They are out of control here now and its only getting worse.
    What a bad idea it was to introduce these here, they are not the original wolves either, they are bigger canadian wolves, its sad.
