    Looking at a Monarch scope #6528 silver 3x9 40mm ol . Anybody have any info on this scope? It is going on a marlin 30-30. Thanx everyone.

    The Nikon Monarch would be a fine choice. I have a few 2-7, & a 3-9. I stocked up when they had a sale last winter. For a lever 30-30 a 2-7 would be more than you would need. It may not come in silver if you want that color.

    The Nikons are good scopes.

    I have (3) 4-12x50SF on different rifles and have a 3-9x50 on the really short "buy list".

    I think Nikons are the best value out there.

    Buy it.

    If you don't like it I'll buy it from you since I have a stainless marlin 1984 in 44 mag that needs to be scoped.

    I agree with the comment on the lower magnification 2-7X would be about right for a lever action.
