Saw this on CNN this morning. What does everyone think of this incident? I'm kind of wondering why this kid had a dashcam hooked up in his car, almost like he was looking for an incident. But at the same time, he really doesn't have an obligation to answer the personal questions, does he? Apparently the cop is now on unpaid suspension while the incident is investigated.

This is going to get locked, for some reason the mods lock every single time this video is posted.

I always shake my head whenever I hear people like you questioning someone exercising their freedom. With as out of control as many police have become, I am wondering why EVERYBODY doesn't have a dash camera to protect themselves against bullies of the badge. I hope he gets fired.

It's going to get locked for sure, I believe my thread on it got locked a few days ago, apparently there were a few before that too. This site is ok with discussing things as long as it is not negative toward LEO's. If you want to discuss it, discuss it at another site, cause it won't fly at this one.

This is quickly becoming the next DEA agent.

  7. Thats too bad. LEO's don't walk on water despite what some round here think.

Outing the few bad ones only benefits the good ones.

What about the LEO who shot at the snake and killed the boy who was fishing? I remember a long thread about that. I definitely don't think this is some sort of condemnation for LEOs, just an interesting video clip. Wouldn't have linked it if I knew it had been locked before, but nothing came up in search of it.

The problem is that some 'round here' can't discuss a topic civilly. Instead, they opt to throw insults, or simply act like an ass, which is a violation of the GT TOS.

Then, when someone starts ANOTHER thread about the now-closed topic, that is another violation of the TOS.

You notice that this is a very one sided argument. There are few LEOs here that are defending him.

The cop was out of line and they know it.

I hope the idiot gets fired.

Had you bothered to read the rules of this site, you would know that's a half-assed theory with no basis in fact.

The very first thread on this subject went on for quite awhile. It was locked because some folks just can't seem to follow the rules and keep the discussion civil.

After that, it's a done deal and the topic is no longer open for discussion. Your thread was locked because it violated the rule about reopening locked threads. It really is that simple.

True enough. But if you read thread all the way to the end you will find another link to another one of this kids police encounters. Apparently he cruises looking for cop encounters and tries to set them off so he can get it on video.

What's MO laws pertaining to video and sound recording of a 3rd party?

Some how I think this guy skirted the MO wiretapping laws or are MO laws pertaining to Law related?

I think the kid did good, I'm also glad things worked in his favor.

It gets locked because it will morph into a cop bashing thread by some troll.

I don't know the law, but the kid does sy tht he has a camera rolling in the car. I'm pretty sure the cop's reaction was that he did too. (I'm not 100% sure, so please forgive me if I'm wrong)
