Misfeed in Springfield XD40

hi father poodle,
got the same problem w/ my single stack 1911.
i can fully load the 7rnds(medyo hirap)but it will not set-inside the frame. but when i load 6rnds only, walang problema.

matigas lang talaga siguro ang springs ng mga mags dahil bago.
i load 7rnds on the mags before coming back here in jeddah baka sakaling pag-uwi ko pwede na.

pero di ko narin malalaman kng effective nga yung ginawa ko dahil nasunog yung boomer ko kasama noong bahay namin.:freak:

wala naman bro, kaya nga lang wala ring nadala maliban sa mga important docs. tsaka small things.
mga 3am kasi nagsimula yung sunog sa katabing bahay namin kaya nataranta mag-ina ko.

noong may 22 pa nangyari yun. ngayon nasa ibang area na kami nagpatayo ng bahay.
on going parin ang construction hangang ngayon. di na kasi ako maantay ni misis.
binta nalang daw ni kumander yung lupa doon sa lugar na yun dahil 'di narin maganda tumira doon.

yung boomer ko naman na-recover at di naman totally nasunog dahil sa safe. matagal din bago nakuha ni misis doon sa konsehal ng barangay.
nasa shooters na ngayon, pina-restore kuna tapus sabay upgrade narin para isang gastos nalang.

Poodle - Baka magpapagawa ng holster kay Uncle Tony yung kaibigan mo, sama na rin ako ng dalawa. Isang left and right hand. OWB.

Madali yan pards
10 rounds nalang ikarga nya sa mag, wala ng jam , hindi pa sasakit daliri nya kakapilit ipasok yung 2 bala

Bakit palambutin yung spring , mas maganda yung matigas

Mikol,

My gunsmith (who hails from Danao)once showed me how to take care of that problem. He showed me how to tune the 7 round mag having that problem. He trimmed the tongue (the one that rides at the back of the magazine), and the problem was solved.

Sorry to hear about your house.

About your pistol, have the SAM gunsmith thoroughly check your pistol. Could be that the metallurgy of the pistol was affected because of the heat it has sustained during the fire even if it wasn't actually burned. Also, have all the springs changed, and have it chromed (para isang gastos na lang).

Have you tried using extra-power magazine springs from Wolff? Also, double check if the magazine is really a 12 rounder (because you're having difficulty loading the two rounds. From my experience, feeding issues with the last round or the last two rounds in your case is a symptom of weak mag springs. I'm not familiar with XD40 mags, but some people cut mag springs to accomodate extra rounds with the same mag length. When there's not enough rounds left, the magazine springs don't have enough tension to push the remaining rounds upwards, and that could be the cause of misfeeds.

personally talked w/ rhone de leon regarding my firearm.
his gunsmith had checked the unit & as far as metallurgy is concern, it was not affected.

it seems that the only parts to be replaced are all the springs & some pins. the only problem they had encountered is tapping out the MSH pin. besides that all is ok.

I've already asked rhone to have it chrome, but he said that their chroming work is temporarily suspended.
i might have it hard chrome nalang siguro sa ibang gunsmith as soon as i'll be back in the country.

about the mods of the mags, i'll just tell rhone about trimming the tongue at the back of the mags if the new factory mags will have the same problem.

Parang di weak mag springs ang cause dahil pag 10 rounds lang ang karga, wala misfeed kahit sa last 2 rounds. Pag pinilit namin ang 12 rounds (12 rounder talaga dahil me 12th round indicator sa likod ng mag) me misfeed sa last 2 rounds. Tapos me galos ang basyo ng last two rounds sa point of contact between the rounds, i.e., sa bandang taas. Ang tigas talaga, parang mababali ang daliri ko sa pag-load kahit 6th round pa lang.

Di ako nagkaroon ng ganung problem sa Glock, kahit bago mga mags ko. Galing talaga Glock.

yup our right isuzu, rhone de leon is a very down to earth person.
when you talk to him it seems like you are just talking to an ordinary employee of SAM. to think that he is the PRESIDENT of the company. :supergrin:

yup the pistol is ok. & SAM CUSTOMER SERVICE is A OK!
i have also the advantage of SAM's service since SAM's factory is just an hour(or less)drive from my house.

Is SAM's factory still in Mandaue where the entrance is an eskenita? We went there during the World Shoot and they let us try their pistols at their firing range for free.

Yup 8 rounder shooting stars. Bought each for P1600 brand new/pads.

yup same area isuzu.
it's located at the back of Metro Bank Subandaku Branch & the entrance is along the national road on the left side of Metro Bank.
around 20 mtrs more or less from the high-way.

received an email from rhone last friday saying that we will just adjust the trigger pull poundage & recoil spring poundage of my commodore during the test fire of my boomer as soon as i'll be back in Cebu.

kasi daw kung e adjust nila as to their gunsmith refrence, baka daw di ko naman gamay pag ako na ang gumamit.
kaya daw dapat ako talaga ang mag-test fire tsaka palang e ti tweak according to my liking & comfort.(galing talaga ni rhone :laughabove: )
