I also bought mine new, but closer to 2016 so there might have been a generational difference that we're not aware of.

Being the kind of guy who can't leave things alone, I disassembled and reassembled my KSG, then broke out a pack of each type of mini shell I have on hand (slug, bird and buck). Slugs do stick out a bit further than birdshot but what I didn't notice before was that mini buckshot shells are actually longer than mini birdshot as well.

Using birdshot, I can fit 24+1 but using the buckshot or slugs I only get 22+1.

No biggie. 23 rounds is still a ridiculously high capacity for a shotgun this compact.

As far as the minishells, I’m kind of torn between the slug and the buckshot load. I’m leaning toward just stocking up on the slug.

Here's a ballistics test for the minis with some surprising results.
This vid is what ultimately sold me on these.

Which mini slugs or 00s run reliably in a KSG? Want to get some for my KSG which has been 100% reliable with all loads so far with no cleaning all the years I've owned it.

Shoot 100 to 200rnds fast every monthly session with no issues.

Lol nice. I'm sorry I must have mistaken the shell counts and it was the bird that fit 24+1. Thanks for your clarification.

Why? The little plastic piece is like, what? $14? And it’s easy to remove for regular size shells.

My understanding is while the Opsol thingamajig works most of the time, it does hang up the shells on, occasion and sometimes falls off. Never tried it, so take that for what it is worth.

How many Aguila minis you can load in your Shockwave? There is a video on John Hickok's Youtube channel where he loaded nine in a tube of a standard Mossberg Shockwave, but I can't do more than eight in mine and that's kinda weird.

I can see if you used a shockwave for store/home defense gun... if they worked in older 870 I might try to get wife to try instead of AR.
A semi auto, built for them should shoot really soft.

Tried Mini-Shells in two Ithaca M37 Pumps - cycled through fine, although I do cycle all pumps briskly (as I was taught at Remington Armorer School) - I have heard of problems for some when pumped slowly. The long mag tube gun holds, if I counted right, 13! When I get both to the range I will have a better opinion. Both my Ithacas are 1970-1980's production, don't know if that matters. CC

I’ve shot them in my single shot, fun little shells. I don’t think they will work in any of my other shotguns because all I have is a bunch of 870s lol

Never tried any mini-shells here. So the buck is good enough for HD in my Shockwave for the extra rounds or should I stick with my Federal LE132-00? Maybe load a few slugs in the side saddle too? Definitely go Aguila over Federal or am I good based on what I can find these days?

I tried the OpSol plug and it was a big fail in my 590. Never more than two rounds fed/ejected.

I'll probably write them and make sure I'm installing it correctly but since they're Vet-owned I won't ask for a return.

Are you using some sort of adaptor?
I have a 20+year old 1300 and passed up a very good deal on these short shells. Due to compatibility I passed. If these actually work I’m going to get some

Nope. They run fine. I do tend to roll the gun to the left a little when racking a shell in.

Thanks, bet I can’t get a deal like that one again but I’ll keep a lookout as I’m curious .
