    Hanep, best movie talaga
Galing ni Fafa clint and the other cast members
Mga left hook ni swithart Hilary would have knocked out Morales
Tapos yung ending, parang 357mag shot to the heart naks!
Kakahiya yung mga tao, nag iiyakan tsk tsk

    Anyway, kaya ko nabanggit
Yung first half ng movie is an inspiration for any up and coming athlete
I know most of the IPSC shooters here wants to become one of the best dito sa pinas
Nandun sa movie ang answers how
Sa sobrang inspiring napatakbo uli ako nang hindi oras, ayan pilay nanaman hehe

Nice movie! Saw it today and man, Clint Eastwood did a hell of a job with that film. Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman both deserve the Oscars they won.

I encourage all athletes, whether aspiring or professional ones, to go and find time to watch the film. One thing I learned-- it's never too late to start learning anything.

It was a very good movie. Not quite a great one though, IMO,
unless it's consideed relative to the drivel that it is up against.
(I didn't even bother finishing another multi-Oscar-nominated movie)

I can understand simplifying the surroundings to focus on the leads,
but I thought Maggie's family were way too cartoonish.
The early match against the UK champ ultimately felt rushed ---I mean,
what, a few acrid words of wisdom and it's wham-bam thank you m'am?

The movie showcased great performances from Swank, Freeman and Eastwood,
and had the serious (stealth) subject matter going for it.
We really enjoyed 'Million Dollar Baby', and look forward to more
    filmmaking from Eastwood.

    :)

there have been discussions on another sports forum about the poor state of sports dito
Walang suporta gobyerno sa ating athletes
I bluntly told them ,kung wala na makain, bakit indi nalang magtrabaho at kalimutan muna ang spiorts
Well, I caught a lot of flak from that comment ( sanay nako hehe )
Baka this movbie shows kahit sa tate, hindi lahat may pera ( screenplay based on short stories from the ring )
You have to prove yourself before you get sponsors and before the money comes in
Ganyan talaga buhay, hirap maging foor

Ano nga ba yung gaelic na tawag kay maggie? mo guishla?
    You guys remember?

Reminds me of my Dad when I was still starting to practice for running marathons. "Bago ka pa lang tumatakbo gusto mo mahal agad sapatos mo?" He used to say...that's why I ran Pandacan to Sangley Point with hand me down Chuck Taylors. :) Turned out it was to my advantage because when I entered the PMMA, a school for the less priviledged, guess what they used for road runs in Fort Bonifacio ;f

I have to see this movie. I am already intirgued why Swank beat the veteran Annette Bening.

    Yes.

    my darling/my blood
The last distinction is important, as it implies close blood kinship.
The word is poignant in retrospect: in Frank's mind that early,
Maggie had already begun to present his redemption as a father.
I'm a sucker for movies about redemption, grace, and sorrow.

Here's the catch of an idle minute, hehe:

"Those turning to an Irish dictionary seeking confirmation of
the meaning of the word "macushla," featured in the movie
'Million Dollar Baby', will be disappointed. The word,
translated by director Clint Eastwood's character Frankie Dunn
as 'My darling, my blood', is not likely to be heard in Ireland today,
but did appear as the title of an old, immensely popular
John McCormack recording of a Tin Pan Alley song published in 1910.
The melody was by Dermot MacMurrough, with lyrics by Josephine V. Rowe.
But perhaps Eastwood will make the term of endearment as popular again
as his 'Dirty Harry' catch phrase, 'Go ahead, make my day'."

In a way, Maggie and Frank saved each other. Maggie was given the chance to have more than just an obscure and seemingly uneventful, mundane existence. Frank was given a chance to express his fatherly love to a daughter he lost in the past.

It's refreshing to see a movie which does not rely on special effects to be considered worth watching.
