Oh good. All of you will be killing eachother again in 3 months to scoop these up at $100 ea when they fire-sale them like HP did. LOL

I never cared much about this version. It is a fools errand to deliver a new product with limited apps competing in what is now a mature marketplace.

From a business point of view, I am very interested in the pro version coming next. We will take a hard look at that.

Beware when the ads for a product are worth more than the whole product line.

I realized when Microsoft came out with Vista that they were done. It's just a matter of time...stick a fork in them.

Precisely what I was going to say. Big, big mistake and very dumb to release the RT version before the Pro.

95% of the purpose for any MS involvement in the tablet world is to enable people to run any real software they like, just on a PC.

To release a severely limited version is just dumb, like when Rim released their playbook tab....without a native email client....this coming from the company who built their company on.....push email to mobile devices.....

I mean seriously....who runs these companies??

In any case, I played with the Lenovo Yoga ultrabook/tablet/convertible last night....not sure how well the surface pro is even going to fare once people realize that it just doesn't work trying to use a mouse & keyboard OS like windows with your fingers.

I've already gone through this; I can VPN to any of my clients servers and RDC in with an app on my iPad and it's a hassle to say the least. It's something I do in case of emergency and something I avoid until I'm in front of a PC if possible.

I am with you with the vpn/rdc/ipad thing. I think it is terrible. Some think the mouse/keyboard interface is over rated...i think not.

But they did such a fantastic job with 7.....they just need to fire everyone involved with Vista and 8 and make a Windows 7 v.2.

I bought Windows 8 Pro. I haven't installed it yet but MS is selling it for only $40 right now so I got it to play with and see how it works. I'll have to deal with it eventually as some of the employees will certainly end up with it on a laptop or PC. I figured that I might as well get started on the learning curve...... again.

Sure, it's to boost their sales numbers for bragging rights on the number of copies sold.

Because no one was buying it for more.

It seems MS and Star Trek movies have something in common. Every other iteration sucks.

You couldn't buy it for more, well actually I guess you could, you could always add a tip. It was officially released the last week in October for $39.99, and that introductory price will be good until the end of January. So I guess you're right, they probably haven't sold many copies at more than the initial asking price.
