Im looking to build a portable lan gaming center and was wondering if there were any drawbacks to the micro atx platform? I couldnt find any just searching around but the internet seems to be clogged with more and more trash everyday making the real info almost impossible to access.

I have never built one but considering the small size of the case and your gaming needs you may run into a cooling issue. Its a small case and i am sure adding additional fans may be a problem. According to what i read about them though you still get all the options as if it were a full or mid tower. Your only losing expansion slots. Sounds doable to me if you can get the cooling you will need in a gaming computer.

here is what i found on the cases:

    Hey,

thanks alot for the link, I knew there had to be a downside but I dont see the IO ports limiting me, 4 usb is enough for my needs. I was thinking something along the lines of this case, seems to fit my needs and looks like it will stay decent ly cool.

Its for lack of a better word...cute and it even has a carry handle. If compact and portable are big issues then i think you got that covered, looks like it will make a nice portable gamer.

I am in the middle of building two systems, i just ordered the second case tonight. I go the saprono fo rmy buddies and this one for mine: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowI...Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail

Pity my truck took a crapola tonight, looks like i may end getting a new one tomorrow :( didnt plan on it until Dec or Jan.

I will be playing the super lotto with renewed enthusiasm.

i use a micro ATX board.

as stated above, the only drawback i've found is the lack of PCI slots. I thought 3 would be enough, but i'm not longer sure.
