I guarantee she did this initially because trump was touting the success of these drugs a while back, she was "going to show him" that a democrat knows better....then her phones lit up with angry citizens

If you've read them, why are you asking questions? Re-read it if necessary. Don't be afraid to try to sound-out the "big words".

I was testing your knowledge of the subject, and you failed miserably.

I was doing the same. :cowboy:

I read the first memo, it seemed obvious to me what the intent of it was.

I didn't need to read the 2nd one - the FDA had already authorized chloroquine for use against COVID-19 by then.

Your estimation of what I know or don't know could not possibly matter less.

    Have a great day, Don.

Why would I need to read it? By the time we started having this discussion the FDA had already authorized chloroquine to be used for treating CV-19, thus taking away any "creative interpretations" of whether or not it was a legitimate medical usage.

    That's why I posted this:

I've got a job, I don't need to fill my time reading now-irrelevant clarification memos from the state gov just because.

To cure your ignorance on the topic.
You were commenting on the issue Monday without actually reading them both.
    You were ignorant.

By the time I commented the FDA had already approved it.

There wasn't anything of substance or import to be ignorant of.

Hell, even the original letter said it was allowed to prescribe it for legitimate medical purposes - seeing as how it's estimated that 20% of all prescriptions written in the country are for "off label" treatments, it wouldn't be tough to argue CV-19 was a legitimate medical purpose from the get-go.

    https://www.ahrq.gov/patients-consumers/patient-involvement/off-label-drug-usage.html

I'm far from ignorant about this topic, but I'm tired of engaging your nonsense. Feel free to have the last words.

The FDA isn't the Michigan governor's administration. You were and still are ignorant of what they wrote. If you wish to remain ignorant of the topic, go ahead.

FDA approval unequivocally, unarguably made it a "legitimate medical purpose".

Yes, after the letter(s) from the State, BEFORE I posted in this thread - which was the point.

Your ignorance was the point. The FDA is something you brought up to save face. :animlol:

Keep going. Everyone is laughing by now.

No, I brought the FDA approval up in my very first post - that's why I said it (the letters and their possible interpretations) no longer mattered.

The first article had this quote 'without further proof of efficacy' that presumably came from the initial memo. That does not sound like the Michigan governor was concerned with preventing stockpiling, but that she was forcibly restricting use until further evidence showed that it was effective??? Or playing a political game to dis the president. Seems that the second memo was trying to cover up the decision to ban, or at least to discourage, it's use at that time due to lack of evidence that it is effective which seems unfounded considering what is known about the drug and the current conditions.

In any case, what does this have to do with President Trump? He didn't try put any restrictions on the use of these drugs or tell doctors what the can or cannot do.

I guess it matters if one is looking to understand the motivation for the initial "ban" or prohibition on using the medication? Maybe??
