Great job! Not too bad a size for a eight point. What county were you in?

    Congrats!

He was taken in the VERY Southern end of Saginaw County.

He’s not too bad… not too bad for a 1-1/2 year old that is! Yup, this was his 1st rack ever, this time last year he was a 6 month old “button buck”! They grow pretty good in these parts. ;)

Should have seen the big guy 30 yards behind him! ;P I’ll be looking for him tonight! ;)

    Nice job.

I also notice that you got him with a cross bow, even better. State of Fl pretty much is anti-crossbow on everything down here.

    Thanks noway! :)

Michigan is also pretty much anti-crossbow for everyone but us “physically less fortunate” ;) bow hunters. (Although they just recently okay'ed crossbows for everyone who may choose to during regular deer firearms season.) Michigan has only allowed crossbows for the last 5 (maybe 6?) years to those that are considered permanently (have to have a licensed PT sign your app.) disabled. One has to go through an “application process” to get a permit. Michigan has no temporary permits for crossbows, you either get one for life or ya don’t get one at all… no in between!

I know that I personally wouldn’t be bow hunting without this crossbow 'law’! I tried for years to master the “regular” bow without any luck of any kind… :(

(Sorry if all that sounded a bit defensive, but I’m getting used to defending my crossbow at the “drop of a dime”… I just instinctively jump right into now ;T... saves time that way ;)…….)

I have heard mention of a possible special MI crossbow season for everyone, but I kind of doubt it’ll ever come.

    Cool.

Looks like the bolt did a complete pass-through.

MD just opened the state to cross-bow hunting. Up until last year you had to have a disabled permit/note/whatever. For example, a neighbor has had a dislocated shoulder, so he couldn't draw a bow with the minimum draw-weight of 40 lb (IIRC). So, he's had a cross-bow permit for several years. I don't care what anybody says, if you want to hunt with a crossbow, more power to ya'. Personally, I like my compound, though. ;)

Nice deer. Looks like a big rack for a relatively small body. Must be something in the water. Now let's see some pics of some Michigan women, to see if the trend continues

;)... if I'm lucky, maybe one day, as it looks like I'll be the only male in the family... little girl #2 is on the way, she'll be here in February.

Keep your muzzle down then, as you're close enough to shoot me with the right wind! ;)

Bald, fat & ugly too, eh? Maybe a new Mid-Michigan "support group" is in order? :)
