    Mga bros,

I have an olympus XD memory card para sa camera ni Mrs.

I took some pics on an event a day before. It was fine then. Overnight when i was going to download it to my computer, it was not working.

The camera indicated that i wipe the contact areas or format the XD card. I wiped it and nothing happened.

I then brought it to camera centers and computer centers to have the said memory card read. They cant read the card.

So i bought a card reader and tried it at home. The same results. The drive can be read but the memory card properties indicates that there is a memory card but it cant be read.

I would like to recover the pics and vids if possible. Any help will be appreciated

I do not want to format the card since there may be a chance of recovering the data.

i lost 800 photos because nacorrupt card ko. i tried out 2 free data recovery softwares - recuva recovered 185 photos (all jpeg). zero assumption recovery recovered 1050 photos (jpeg and tiff)! yeah, and i just needed 800 photos :) just a heads up for those who know they should immediately back up their photos but do not, knowing that murphy is just lurking around waiting to strike. :)

so try running zero assumption recovery (ZAR) muna. its free anyway. be careful lang, it might also recover your previous scandal videos eventhough na erase and format mo na :)

Do the fridge treatment. Wrap it in plastic, sealed. Leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours to cool it down. Plug it in the reader while it's cold.

If it still doesn't work the card's probably fried. toss it. sorry :(

The card is defntly toast... even if ma.ok..i'd throw it away. coz i won't risk the chance na mawala nanaman yung pics.. ma.shooting ba yan.. or worse... graduation ng anak mo.. so i'd throw it down the hatch... get a new one. but try to recover the pics na nasa card for now :p

is it relatively new? If yes, you might still have the warranty to get a new one. But of course memories lost due to the faulty card could not be replaced.
