I have to return some video tapes.
What movie is that line quoted from? (don’t look it up)
Well add the Civil War and over 600,000 KIA when you add up both sides. And many think the virus times are so very bad. Imagine being a rebel that survived the war... That war was just plain nasty on all accounts but a hundred times worse ifin you and your family and kin folk were on the losing side. No anesthesia for combat wound surgery, there was a reason doctors were called "Saw Blades". To quote that preacher in John Wayne's "The ALAMO", "All a man gets is a time to live and a place to die". Semper-Fidelis.
Hmmmm...maybe you sent fullclip a bottle of Mad Dog to bribe him...lol
Classy stuff, do you drink a shot of whiskey as well?
Well damn, now I've turned green(With envy), that's ok as I was in the "Green Machine"(USMC) and besides, it's always been my favorite color.
Oh come on go ahead and do your best Captain Dan impression in a storm.
Hmmm...don't all the jails and prisons have revolving doors or quick exit programs because of CV19? Oops, should of kept my mouth shut.
Thanks for the pictures...never forget.
Well there are 10,000 Lakes, so which one are you hitting? Are the BOSKEETOES out yet?
Sure hope your not at home, never let your enemies(Newly aquired) know where you live.
Well I have read all the posts for this thread now for my response. After paying my respects and prayers for my squad leader and a few other MARINES/GRUNTS that paid the ultimate price in 1968 Vietnam and then to finish with a salute shot to them.
I always eat well on holidays, especially Memorial Day. I am always reminded of C-Rats on certain days, it's an unending payback of food taste.
So I have already watched "Patton" and the newer version of "Midway" which I really liked. I'm gonna watch some of these(pictured) films tonight. For sure the "Evening Parade" as it has the "Silent Drill Team" and both the USMC Band and USMC Drum and Bugle Corps. No movie about war ever has it all correct but there's always something that triggers memories in me when it comes to Vietnam movies. Siege is one of my favs. FMJ is great but I just don't relate with HUE and city fightin' as our unit was always out in the jungle just snoopin' and poopin'. Platoon is great until you have that in house fightin'. That crap would never happen in our unit. You do what your squad leader or platoon seargent told you to...PERIOD.
Well gotta go cook my supper, have a nice evening y'all.
Skeeters are out, but not bad (short on rainfall).
The lake didn't happen.
#1 wife wanted garden expanded, now! /end]
#2 old friend needed some help [vet]
#3 not as young as I once was [truth]
Put out some flags.
Laid some flooring. Ouch.
Ate some grilled bratwurst.
Now what was that ole saying, "The best laid plans go a rye(only sp I know)". I'll bet you know where it came from, just a hunch.
We just had a bunch of rain, about 2". They will be thick here in a few days.
Well where I live there aren't any mosquitos, I haven't been bitten by one in at least 35 years. There really isn't any flies either but that's just because of the nice area up in the hills and a dead end circle. The latter just prevents more lame-o cruisers and low lifes from bothering with the area and throwing out garbadge and old food.
I live at the very start of foothills leading to the Santa Cruz Mountain Range around 23 miles south of San Francisco and maybe 30 miles west to the ocean. There are bees, butterflies, and ants in the area.
I worked fri/sat/sun, nights to boot. a wild weekend it was.
Well you got a job, your making a lot of smackeroos so you have some more money for filet-mignons, and some fine 15 year plus aged scotch. Heck maybe you could even buy one of those Blackstone outdoor pizza ovens as shown on this thread.
