Does anybody think the Government is going to come out and say you don't need to wear masks anymore?

I can see masks being required permanently when flying (19 yrs later still taking off your belt and shoes), in schools, in government buildings/agencies, hospitals, doctors offices, Disneyland, grocery stores, malls, etc, etc. It's going to be almost impossible to unwind at this point.

Masks may or may not help according to studies i have seen, Duke U did one awhile back and said coverings may actually spread it more but.....SOME in government WILL use them as a way to push CONTROL on the people......democrats.
I'm actually in the this camp. I believe the masks are making it worse. Simpleton view - how is the virus spiking if everyone has been wearing masks for months??

2 weeks, remember?

I only wear a mask at the grocery store and Walmart. The gun shops here don't require anybody to wear them and, contrary to what the Gov says, we don't wear them anywhere in the government department I work for.

Wife had Echo, Treadmill, and Stress Test Yesterday, lady administing test in small talked said this Mask thing would not go away. We would ber wearing Masks from bith to death.

Well I said not being so nice when Hell Freezes over. Last night we get home, and some online retailer is selling Christmas, and New Years Eve theme masks. How they have no sales, and much dead inventory.
Democrat politicians are enjoying this new found control.

We have to wear a shirt and shoes. Why is is so damn difficult to wear a frigging mask that covers a fraction of our body and why do so many people raise such a stink about it? Are people that inconsiderate that they can’t prevent their germs from harming others?
We don't have to wear a shirt or shoes. Spreading germs is what has earned us a right to be here. Germs are never going away. What you advocate is mask wearing forever. Not me, pal.

Sounds like you would be happy living in France but alas, you won't move.

I’ve gone the other way and upped my face diaper game.

It’s what the F1 teams are wearing and it’s touted to have N95 level protection in a comfortable package.

That way I don’t have to care what y’all are or aren’t doing and I can do my own thing unobtrusively. That’s freedom to me.
You never had to care or worry about what other people are doing.

I don't see the big deal. Let the people that want to wear the mask wear them, let the people who do not wish to wear the mask not wear them. A business can make their own decision. We will just bury those who die.
Not me, I'm getting cremated.

I get it germs and such. But it’s easier for some than others. I can’t wear a watch or even my wedding ring, any jewelry. It bugs the hell out of me. Don’t like baseball hats or restrictive clothing either. Now I’m stuck with a mask. PITA.
How are you stuck with a mask?

Because we are not given an end date. I’ve read estimates of 2033, that will be a hard NOPE!
I’m not good with indefinite masks, ever.
Yep. Remember it was just going to be for a couple weeks? Trial stage 1. Then it was to flatten the curve. Trial stage 2...

I would be fine with being allowed to shoot anyone who coughs or sneezes.
Bring it. I'm once again suffering through my seasonal sinus infection and allergies. I'm coughing, wheezing, sneezing, spitting up and blowing out all sorts of nasty phlegm. I don't wear a mask but I'm always carrying. I hope you put in your sweat equity if you decide to draw on me.

If 100% wore masks, lives would be saved, period. It’s lunacy that conservatives have chosen this as the hill to die on. Trump took decisive action to stop Chinese travel early on, and called himself a wartime president at one point. If he doubled down on this theme and called upon all Americans to wear masks as a patriotic duty early on... I am damn sure nobody in this thread would be crying about oppressive masks. Even if masks were no more effective than the scrap metal program of WWII, it would boost morale and unify people in a non-partisan way. Use the wartime production act to give every American a box of N95 masks instead of 1200 dollars of printed money.

Unfortunately we find ourselves living with the hyper politicization of a public health issue that should have never been political in nature. Whether this virus comes roaring back in the winter due to seasonality (like all other coronaviruses known to man) or not, it will have political consequences. If the War-Time effort mentioned above had been taken, Trump would win in an absolute landslide. Instead, old senile Joe will have a decisive victory by Wednesday morning (come back here and quote me if I’m wrong).

Let’s hope the senate doesn’t flip too, or you will really get to see what a loss of freedom looks like. You can be proud that you kept an open pie-hole and fog free glasses. Hope it was worth it.

Side note: I saw a frail 80+ year old couple with little ‘protect others’ masks on in the grocery store early last Sunday morning. They were getting a few old people groceries and two flats of canned dog food. Thinking of those old people getting sick broke my heart. I guess they didnt have the luxury of ‘staying home if they were afraid’. Same trip I saw a slightly obese redneck with a sleeveless camo shirt give me a glare for wearing a mask. I’ll keep my thoughts about that to myself.

I weld by trade but used to work in restaurants before. When the rona hit most of our work dried up so I went back to my old restaurant job because they were hurting big time trying to find employees and I'm not built to draw unemployment for 4 or 5 months. The kitchen i worked in was between 100 to 110 degrees during the day with around 80% humidity we obviously had to wear masks due to our moron of a governor.

During my 4 months there I saw around 12 employees get the rona, none of them had any severe symptoms at all. I saw 4 people end up in the hospital from wearing those stupid masks because it turns out all you are doing is making a nice warm and moist breeding ground for bacteria in your upper respiratory system. Iv been back to my day job a couple of months now and still have respiratory issues from wearing them. So quite frankly yes it is extremely different from wearing a t shirt.

Masks are good for nothing more than virtue signaling.

Pitiful you are happy that the Senate may flip and dictate more control over our lives.

Did you give your contact information to the frail old couple so you can get their essentials in the future? Of course not, you are simply virtue signaling. You really don't care about them. Broken heart my rear! TWO flats of canned dog food is heavy! You didn't put it in their car for them? Shame on you.

Guaranteed the slightly obese redneck would have balled you up and shoved you in a meat locker if you looked at him twice. GUARANTEED. He was also the one that would have helped them put that heavy canned dog food in their car for the old couple. A redneck is far more respectful than a liberal.
