Who else would be interested in a forum dedicated to unarmed self-defense? We could trade ideas, training regiments and techniques all within our little gun-toting community. Of course martial artists of all stripe would be welcomed, from white belts to ninth degree black belts. I figure that on a forum with so many people interested in self-defense, it had to make more sense to discuss those rare occasions when you don't have your lead spittin buddy with you.

edited to add: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, white belt

Contrary to popular belief, boxing and wrestling are martial arts while TKD isn't ;f

This is always a valid subject, because you're not always justified in using your gun. It'll also be good to see some martial artists on the forums. So many people I know that practice martial arts are vehemently opposed to guns. Guess they're unable to deal with the fact that all their years of training can be instantly nullified by a 90 year old woman with a revolver. I like WWII combatives, myself, but will use anything thats dirty, fast, and unfair. Count me in. Are we talking knuckles and feet only, or do we include weapons of either blunt or sharp persuasion?

I'm in. I don't practice a brand per say. I mix n match. It's nice to have other way to defend yourself, in case you can't pack heat. I specialize in knives, and I'm good thrower and knife fighter.

Besides if all else fails, I'll drop the hammer. (Kick in the stones and run like hell!)

Why would you say that boxing and wrestling are martial arts?

    Martial ... OK, but arts?

Boxing and wrestling are western systems of fighting. They are martial arts.

    Your right...

    It's a sport AND a Martial Art.

Plus, my TKD Master can kick your boxing and wrestling coaches asses at the same time while he watches TKD on the olympics and drinks a redbull.
