    Title says it all.....

Manager denies that their tire machine did the damage to these wheels. There was not a single scratch on them when they took possession of the vehicle.

I know that the tires are dirty. Michigan still has quite a bit of crap on the roads. We have not had a good rain yet so it is impossible to keep them clean.

Well, do you really think the manager would accept blame right away?

    You need proof.

Unless you have pics to prove that it happened while it was in the shop (I take pictures of the wheels in the parking lot of the tire place, every time, for just this reason) I'm pretty sure you're just out of luck. That sucks.

    Proof?

How exactly do I prove it, per se. They were undamaged before he took possession of the vehicle. They are now damaged on all four tires in a circular shape on the outside border of each rim. Much similar to how a tire machine would damage a wheel.

If there is a regional manager, go up the chain. Otherwise file a claim with their insurance and then your insurance.

Don't know what the wheels are from, but is it all the wheels that they touched?

    It won't buff out.

You mean before they touch the vehicle?

I have the work statement showing that their inspection before they worked on the vehicle did not list ANY damages.

Go into the tire shop with a stack of 2000 or so flyers. The flyers should be short and to the point, something about "[X] Tire Shop's Unfair Business Practices" and how they don't own up to their mistakes.

Go into that shop with the stack of 2000+ flyers. Say, "Look, you caused these scratches. I know it and you know it. If you don't do what is right, I'm going to make sure the entire god damn town knows it."

    Fixed it for you,.......

Sounds like you need to contact this shop's Corporate office.
But, if you have left the business,.....you have a LONG battle ahead.

Just as devildog stated. The situation does suck but you won't get anywhere without evidence.

I have not touched my vehicle since I went to pick it up and noticed the damage. It is still in their parking lot. I refused to sign the invoice and take my keys.

The way it works at my toyota dealership i work at...

Techs will check each car before they come in.. if they see damage they'll take note..

IF the service manager CAN'T prove they DIDN'T do it.. we eat it.

Even if we think the car came in like that - it's just good business.

I understand what you were saying. What I meant is I am asking you what proof can I possibly get unless I had the forethought to take pictures before giving them the vehicle? Is your point that there is nothing I can use as proof at this point? I am just screwed?

Dealerships have video cameras all over the place - have them show you no damage happened in the parking lot or tire room..

The tech that did it knows they f'd up.. hold them to it.

Time to contact insurance companies and get an appraiser on-site and inspect the damage. I also would start making noises about a rental car until yours gets fixed.

I like the flyers idea. That would get my attention as a business man immediately.

It is a national chain/corporation. I do not think they will even flinch at that idea.

That's the part you've got to prove, unfortunately.
