What is with these protestors and skateboards? Skateboards appear to be a commonly used weapon. A protestor with a skateboard should be considered armed and dangerous.

My advice is to stay clear of that BS and avoid the situation all together. I would never go near any of the crazy ness going on right now.

And that was just at a protest rally.

What do you think the scene will look like at a Trump rally if anti-Trump protesters show up in mass, jeering, yelling, and throwing stuff at all the pro-Trump folks there to see him?

Normally the local cops would be all suited up and out in force to keep each side separated and 'maintain the peace,' as it were. Yeah, ancient concept. I get that. :whistling:

But with the moves being pushed to neuter and/or defund local PDs in the big cities, you have to wonder what a lot of these Trump campaign rallies will look like this fall ... ? :headscratch:

Trump can't win re-election by only holding them in the 'safe' cities in Red States and avoiding the Dem strongholds in Blue States. He'll need to take the fight this fall to Biden in those places too, since he'll need to swing as many independent voters his way as possible.

Oh well, in an election year, it all kicks-off in earnest after Labor Day ... Stay tuned.

Good advice but sometimes it is unavoidable. I don't know if it was in this guy's case? We have had "pop up" protests start downtown so it is kinda luck of the draw.

It's called "trucking", and yes, everyone who skateboards knows that it's a weapon.

I was thinking the same. Who ever thought of a skateboard as a weapon?! All the little 'skatepunks' generally seem to keep to themselves. Live to skate. Skate to live sorta thing.

They are considered "armed and dangerous" in the 50 states I'm aware of. Do you know a place that disagrees?

They are common enough that nobody notices them. They are innocuous looking so nobody notices them. Aka you can sneak them into areas unlike a bat, stick or other bludgeoning instrument that people may pay attention to.

Question is going to be context that is missing from the video. Did he insert himself into a mob of idiots or did they overtake him so to speak by surprise. If he has posts on social media like the last guy that pulled a gun at a “protest” about going out and doing stupid stuff he is screwed.

Because a skateboard won't be considered a deadly weapon under the law if you're just walking around with it, unlike a baseball bat, golf club, or length of metal pipe.

    They know what they're doing.

I assume that we will find out what happened in the minutes before that video clip.... eventually.

I agree. But there is still a part of me that wants to see, understand stuff first hand. When younger I put myself into possibly dangerous situations to see how things worked, how people acted. I went to a couple of “cult” type things.
I was confident when I decided to leave I could ghost out. When that was not possible I just left, vocal when delayed, to pre violent “you can’t force me to stay, that’s....” they stepped back. (Yes dumb).
Thing is part of me does want to better understand the stupidity of crowd. If I was 20 I likely would dress up Antifa, play along with hidden camera (but using cell phone camera at times to blend in). I want to find who is running the useful idiots. But it’s a dumb thing to do at 20. Idiotic closer to 70
