See, now the title is misleading. 'Beer run' connotates it was a legitimate purchase and someone intervened.

Despite what some may think, beer just isn't worth your life.

Hell of a discription there, PPD spokesman Crump. Might want to double up manpower on the tip lines.

Should be a lesson for all that claims to be shepherds. If you want to play a cop role, than be armed know what your doing and have backup or a plan B and C when it doesn 't go your way.

regardless if the guy was right or wrong , he lost his live over what $25-30 of beer that wasn't even his beer.

No kidding. Glad we know the color of the car, but I guess we can speculate on the color of the perp.

I guess none of you bother to read the article AND LOOK at the photo of the guy.

Sounds like to me he lost his life trying to defend his wife, he just pissed the guy off with the beer deal. I couldn't stand by and let my wife get pistol whipped armed or not.

I would not have intervened when he was just stealing the beer. But if he would have assaulted my wife/girlfriend/mother/grandmother/any women for that matter, I would feel honor bound to intervene. The way I was raised, you don't assault a lady and get away with it.

It's unfortunate that people intentionally sensationalize their posts.

I guess that they feel the need to misslead the readers in an
effort to shine some recognition on themselves. This was not a
    beer run. :whistling:

So an armed man hits your wife once and then takes off. She has suffered minor injuries but is overall, ok.

    You are unarmed.

    What's your plan?

Same old~same old. I remember the good old days when they actually gave out descriptions and made artist's sketches. That's apparently now considered racial profiling

It goes without saying that the dead guy was way foolish to get involved over some beer, even if he was armed

I too rarely follow links. He looks to be mestizo. However, it seems standard practice these days in most localities NOT to even give a general description of a perp, and it is glaringly obvious as to why. I virtually guarantee you most local radio stations are not giving a description

I don't know...watching your wife getting pistol whipped would be a tough one to swallow I think.

If you had been armed would you not have drawn and fired long before the perp had a chance to pistol-whip your wife? It would be difficult to justify drawing and firing as he walked away if you didn't already draw when he presented a weapon. Btw this is theoretical and is for those of you thinking of how to react when your wife is minorly assaulted.
