Man accused of filling water cup with soda at fast food restaurant starts fight, gets Tased, cops say

A Montana man who was accused of filling his water cup with soda at a fast food restaurant has been arrested and charged with multiple misdemeanors and a felony.

Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh says police were called to the scene on Thursday around 2:30 pm after Daniel Stine started a fight with a restaurant employee.

The 48-year-old had allegedly tried to fill a water cup with soda at a restaurant and was confronted by an employee who told him he would have to pay for the soft drink, Welsh said to KGVO.

"When confronted by an employee who informed him that he had to pay for the cup of soda he refused and left out one of the entrances," Welsh said, KGVO reported. "The employee followed him, told him that he was not welcome back then he turned and came back towards the employee and tried to kick that person before walking away again."

So you go from basically nothing to a felony assault. Seems like this guy is a good decision maker.

When eating at KFC Dad would get a water cup and then fill it with lemonade. I always told him the cops were going to come and cart him away.

    Thou shalt not steal.

I hope that felony costs him far in excess of the cost of a soda.

The employee is probably young and in for a painful life full of bad decisions himself.

The important question is, of course, were there illicit plastic straws involved?

Makes one wonder why at 48 he would throw a career away over a soda? Has he been caught before or has something happened in his life to throw him in a spin?
I can understand it better if he has a rap sheet longer than a rake handle.

Come to think of it, I ate at a small town Wendy's and they fill the drink and hand it to you. That is the only fast food place that I have been to that does that. Everywhere else just hands you the cup.

They do. Most places make their profits off of the soda drinks. Clear cups (which probably cost more than the wax/paper cups) are usually given as a courtesy to poor folks who ask for water and don’t buy food. Clear plastic so they are translucent? That’s my limited knowledge on it. Not worth a felony or getting killed over for sure. But people are crazy so ya never know!

The local McDonald's had to stop putting out ketchup, Fork and Knives, Salt and Pepper.
Yeah, people were literally stealing it.
Now you have to specify what and how much need with your order.

If your old enough, like me, you wight remember when plastic salt and pepper shakers were on the table at most fast food restaurants. Not any more.
