Until now I did not know that a neutered male dog could/would still attempt to mate with a female in heat.

Should I keep them away from each other? Or should I just let them have their fun?:headscratch:

This is not uncommon. I would suggest not letting him hump anything. This is a bad habit and could cause a bite if someone gets involved. Try to keep a leash on him at all times and when you see it, say "NO", break it up and redirect.

Is it just females in heat or is he trying to mount random dogs? Either way it sounds like a dominance issue. What PJ said is pretty mich right.

My female is not fixed and in heat, when I looked out my window last night they were locked up. He is only a year old and never tries to hump anything, actually my female is usually the one humping him. He is never around any other dogs except my female.
