My wife and I, if we get this home we're looking at, are going to be updating the kitchen with all new appliances. We want stainless. We also want a gas stove. But share your experience with us. Is one brand known to be the best? Are there any brands to stay away from?

We need a stove/oven, dishwasher, fridge, and microwave/hood.

    Thanks!:)

Go with Whirlpool, but not with Whirlpool Gold label.

Stay away from GE or any imports (LG, Samsung)

I did this in 2003 when stainless was all the rage.

Went with a GE Profile side-by-side fridge, GE microwave, Maytag dishwasher, and Maytag gas stove based on Consumer Reports at the time.

Have not had a single issue with any appliance in 7 years and 2 kids later...

I have sold a lot of the GE Cafe series for your type of situation. People have been pretty happy with it.

The nice thing about the range is that it has 5 burners. The center burner is elongated and there is griddle accessory that comes with the range. You can switch out the center grate with the griddle.

The drawer on the bottom is actually a second oven. You get 5 burners and two ovens in a 30" space. The have all the matching appliances to go with it (microwave hood, dishwasher, refrigerator).

I think they have a rebate on the package right now.

dont forget to add in the top loading freezer also,

they are awesome to have for bulk buying meat and frozen things,

along with if you ever hunt you can have space to store it, and you will need it,

if i get a deer / elk in a couple months here ill have to go buy another one most likely

I recommend to stay away from a side by side refrigerator. Try fitting a pizza box into a side by side.

I recommend french doors with the freezer on the bottom. We have an LG like that, and love it.
