Just watched CBS's Magnum P.I. Preview on CBS. Not sure what I think about the back story, but we'll see. One thing I noticed was that T.C. was wearing enlisted rank yet was a chopper pilot. Also, they show Magnum jumping off a NASA platform. Seems to me they would tie it in to the current war(s) going on. We'll see. I was disappointed in the choice for Higgins, but after watching the preview, she's more a protagonist than the original. Looking forward to watching this series.

If Higgins is a girl, I have to ask, who plays Magnum. He was always a kind of "every man's macho man". Please don't tell me it's Rosy O.

Yet another remake to prove that creativity in Hollywood is dead.

What is interesting is that the original Magnum PI came after Hawaii 5-0 because they had studios and crew already in place as one ended they started up a new show. I wonder if the remake of HI 5-0 is about to go off the air.

See, that's the kind of Machiavellian thinking I appreciate.

Does he still have the 1911?

    If not, fail.

If so, I'll give it a watch :)

It would be interesting to tie in Magnum P.I. and the current Hawaii 5-0.

Meh. I'll hang on to the memory of the original.

Hollywood releases hundreds of movies and tv shows every year. I am sure they would appreciate any ideas you might have.

Hollywood isn't about creativity. Its about money, power and narcissism.

Oh, another Hawaiian cop show being rebooted, maybe this one won’t have an anti gun midget getting 3 minute long rants about something he has no idea about.

As one of my favorite shows of all time this new one is almost pure blasphemy. I wanted to see the other show they had planned, Magnum's daughter being a P.I. WTF happened to that??

I give this new show two seasons tops.

Wow, just watched the 4 minute preview, looks surprisingly good. Almost half of the votes are dislikes, probably even watch it.

Decades ago, a Magnum reunion should have launched the Magnum Next Generation, starring his hottie daughter, fresh out of college, and struggling to establish her own Private Investigations firm in Honolulu.
She's good, but her dad and his middle aged friends have to help her out from time to time. She has his still unfinished book on how to be a PI. And lots of bikinis, and friends in bikinis.

TJ's helicopter has seen better days, but still mostly flies.
Higgins is now elderly and a bit senile.

This program should have been 10 or 20 years ago, it might be too late now.

Prior military service he will probably have a 9mm. That is plenty for daily carry. If he is going hunting, he is probably not planning on using a pistol. I wouldn't be.

LC9 is smaller than a J-Frame, is easier to pocket carry and fires a more powerful cartridge with a capacity of 8 instead of 5.

Here is one compared to a G26. I love my G26, but it never gets carried anymore. (not my pic).
