As those who have had AR's for lo these many years know, loading the magazine is pretty easy for the first 15-18 rounds but after that, for me at least, the 5.56 is like trying to put a minnow through the eye of a needle. So I spent a couple bucks and got the Maglula M4 5.56 loader.

The thing is AWE-SOME. Goes over the top of the magazine and the loading arm goes front-to-back, then back-to-front as rounds are loaded. Took maybe 30 seconds to place and figure out, and then maybe 60 seconds to load the magazine.

    I recommend.

I have several for all of my magazine fed weapons. I love them.

Yep. Thinking of getting one for the G21. Bought used, in absolutely perfect shape, but did not come with the Glock reloader that a lot hate, but work for me.

Magazine holds 13. The last two rounds are like putting ten pounds of @#$% in a five-pound bag.

I use it for my pistols and CZ Scorpion. Never had an issue with AR mags.

Works for unloading mags as well. Clever Israeli invention

Anyone tried the newer one for the Ruger 10-22?

I find it tough to get more than 18 rounds in the magazine without battling to keep the round lined up, and without jamming the round into my finger. The 5.56 has a bit of a sharp tip. I basically would put 15 rounds in the mag and stop.

    Welcome.

I am fairly fumble fingered and it is easy enough for me to use.

I have a number of their loaders, rifle, and handgun.

I too prefer the StripLula. It works with or without strippers and is the best AR mag loader Ive used.

The early style loaders work well too, especially if you want to rotate mags. They make unloading effortless.

The loader I use the most though is the UpLula. It makes loading most pistol mags fast and easy.

Great! Do the community a favor and post up how it works. I'm a bit skeptical about that one.

You may be doing it wrong. You just place the round on top of the mag and push straight down. I give the magazine a tap to seat them towards the rear every 10 or so rounds. AR mags are ridiculously easy to load. For pistols they are very handy.

well ain't that special....just got a package for PSA today containing a Maglula for 10-22 mags and the adapter plate for single stack mags to use on the double stack pistol Maglula.

I'm with chevygriz on this, one for every mag feed firearm I have.

I've had the one for the AR 15 mags and am currently using one for AK mags, and ya, they work great for both loading and unloading, watch the vids on they're web site, its that simple and a real thumb saver with metal mags.

PattonWasRight - I literally just tried the one for the 10-22, yanked it out of the package paying no attention to the instructions, slapped a stock 10-22 10 rounder in and loaded it in no time, popped the mag out of the loader, clipped on the unloader and cleared the mag quicker than loading it, the loader/unloader look well made and are of a "beefy" construction for plastic.

gonna have to mod the adapter plate to fit the thicker than 1911 mags with the 43, but it snaps right on and once modded, should be GTG.

Got to be fastidious in keeping it properly positioned over the mag or it will bind some rounds (bullet nose sits too far forward, binds the next incoming round). Works 85-90% of the time, without some fidgeting. Similar to the AK model. Strip lula requires focus on how the rounds sit in the strip and does mis-load the rounds, 10-20% of the time. I've not really found one laoder that works slick for all AR mags-- tried several-- all require some fidgeting.
