My g19 does this also. When I insert the mag the rattle is not loud enough for me to worry about it. If it feeds well all is good.

Load 8 rounds. Rap mag on the heel of your hand, or thigh. Load 9 & 10. No more rattle.

The problem is that the round stagger gets a bit off and allows them to move around a bit. Rapping it settles them, eliminating the rattle.

Almost every magazine (Glock and non-Glock) rattles at some point. Some worse than others but it never seems to affect function.

I have to find a way to ignore grammar and spelling mistakes so I'm not frowning all the time.

Like DannyII says, it happens. Smack the mags against your hand or a table or something. I get a rattle intermittently in my G26 mags. One time it'll rattle, next time not. It's sort of a crapshoot. But other than being a bit annoying, the mags should be OK.

The mag rattle is induced by the orientation of the rounds in the mag.

The rounds in the lower part of the mag are oriented in a nose-DOWN angle, since the rear of the round is flush against the mag spine. The round at the top of the mag is oriented in a nose-UP angle, to correctly feed into the chamber. There is therefore a transition in angle as the round rises in the mag; the round actually flips UP at a point in its rise. Frequently, a round in the mag is positioned RIGHT AT the transition point, and flops up and down as the mag is shaken; this is the rattle so many have noticed over the years. Downloading or reloading a rattling mag CAN eliminate the rattle, because the change would reposition rounds so that none are at the critical rotation point.

It is not a problem. It is simply one of the three classic Glock rattles. In a humorous thread some time ago in which the posters were asked to criticize their favorite guns, one pro-Glock poster hit the Glock with "rattles like a rusted-out Yugo".

    Samurairabbi beat me to it.
Perfectly normal, and not just Glocks. Give the mag a slap and it usually stops.

Raddle? Is that like a paddle or a rattle?
