Is there a trick or special tool to remove the base plate from a Glock 27 magazine? I bought a Pearce grip extension, and I can't get the base off. The base for my G30 came right off, but the G27 magazine has two tabs at the base of the magazine. I can't squeeze the tabs enough to get the base off? What's the trick?

Thanks. I will give it a try, but when I squeeze the sides of the magazine, it doesn't compress.

Yup. I got it. The trick is to use the tool to pull back the base plate as explained in the video. I used a small phillips head screwdriver, and it pulled right off with no damage. Thanks for all the help. That was the trick.

Watch the video in our Gunsmithing forum and follow Randy Smith's instructions. It's really easy with a Glock tool.

I agree its easy now when you use the tool to pull the base plate off. Per the instructions with the Pearce grip extension, I tried to squeeze the base of the magazine to clear the tabs. That doesn't work, but using a tool to pull or slide the base off is the trick. Without this forum, I would still be squeezing the magazine.

    Thanks for the help.

I was having the same problem.

I just install two Pearce plus extenders for my G27. Off to the range tomorrow to test.

    A big THANKS.

To each their own. I tried the Pearce extentions. They worked well, but I didn't like how the gun concealed.

Again using the above help, I returned my G27 magazines to stock.

I just spent $13 on an experiment. Didn't work but I bought six new G22, G23, and G32 magazines at the same time for $15.95 each.

I should have bought a couple more G27 and just left the extentions on them. Next time.
