I've been doing maintenance on my magazines (disassemble, clean w/brush, pass a silicone cloth through) and reload for use. I have a 12 round 'MagPul' mag for my G26 and upon taking it down the spring seemed a little anemic. The spring pushing 12 rounds was shorter and weaker than the one from the Glock 10 rounder. Hmmm, that seems wrong.

So I swapped the 2 springs with the longer/stronger one in the 12 round mag and put the shorter one in the Glock 10 round mag. They look and loaded fine, no actual firing as of yet but I'm thinking this is a good idea. I really think the stronger spring should be under the 12 rounds and the lighter one in the 10 round mag.

Thoughts? I don't see any problems but am open to thoughts. Thanks.

or you could just buy a new pmag for $12 if you think there is a problem with the spring.

I've used these 12 rounders for years and they have worked perfectly for me.

But the burning question is, do the mags not work, or you're just being OCD about it?

Don't have any experience with Magpul springs for pistols, but stronger/longer springs generally work best for me.

Maybe a bit OCD because the mags (both) worked fine. I was just cleaning and doing maintenance when I noticed the disparity in the springs. I'm gonna go shoot them next week (hopefully) and if anything is questionable I'll probably put a Glock OEM spring in the 10 and hope the MagPul works 'cause I like the idea of a better spring in it. (I gotta check my 'stash' because I replaced ALL mag springs a while back with new OEM. Might have one here...)

ETA: I found a bunch of Wolff 10% higher power springs from when I replaced the springs (aged out, so to speak...) in my magazines some time back. I may try shooting the Glock 10 rounder with the MagPul spring just to see. But I'll probably end up putting a 10 round mag spring anyway. Spares are good! ;)

The reason that the Glock spring is longer is because it's the same as a G19 mag spring. I'd get another new spring for the G26 mag if I were the OP.

    OEM FOR ME PLEASE.
Glock 26 9 coil springs in 10 and 12 rounders never gave me problems since 2005 and after 30K rounds.

That's my plan - see post #9 above.
