Gratuitously burning powder and making noise at a range. Not uncommon. Not necessarily helpful when it comes to skill-building, or assessing existing skills, but not uncommon.
At one of the private clubs, I would often sit out when groups I deemed unsafe hit the line. It would take them about 30min to burn thru 150-200rds, then they would leave. With pistol, never say anyone past 10y, most at 7y. I pretty much have my own private bay nowdays at a club. So I get to ignore it but for groups on neighboring bays doing the same thing, I just can't see but only hear them.Gratuitously burning powder and making noise at a range. Not uncommon. One of the various reasons why some skillset development drills start with shooters using down-loaded mags in some training range scenarios. More learning and assessment happening, than just making lots of noise.
