BBC carried a great vid of Erdogan and Iran's president enjoying their time together. So long, Kurds. Putin is happy, too, and told us so.

I'm sorry for our allies we will abandon in the region...I am sorry they will look upon us as having reneged on our promises...But on this issue as well as Afghanistan, I remain a dove...there is Nothing in those God-Forsaken countries which is worth one Drop of American blood!

Wishful thinking or just a "Prediction"? Are we the police of the world now?.....Bet you didnt want to drop the bombs on hiroshima and nagasaki either....war will always be ugly....People die......Yet...in the end...Real war is needed...to finish the problem once and for all...not half ass fighting with small troop placement...

Are you referring to the five Brits and two Frenchmen? They’ll get over it.

The Kurds: This is the third or fourth time we’ve left the Kurds hung out to dry.

I can't disagree more with my bolded part. Wasn't it Collin Powell that said this nonsense many years ago? If a country is a direct threat to us, we go in and break their stuff and kill those that are responsible for that threat. We then leave. Perhaps leave the head of the insurgent leader on a spike with a note saying "do it again and we'll be back twice as hard".

As to Syria, I agree. We have not learned that a Middle Eastern, semi-secular dictator is the only way to keep their extremist populations somewhat under control. Impress upon him my above statements.

Mattis is a good man and a patriot. Good men can disagree. He moved the ball down the field and now its time for the next sec def to step in and pick up the ball. No drama just business.

18 years of war since 2001. What is there to show for it?
Thousands Americans dead, thousands more wounded.
Zippo, nothing, still in the same spot. Let the Europeans take care of it.
When Europeans step up then America can join.
But the world wants the US to provide money and dead to take care of their problems.
Donald Trump is the one that said F that

Sad to see Mad Dog go so soon but on the other hand, I like how Trump switching out his Cabinet members and other staff positions. Making sure that nobody thinks that they're indispensable and can afford to rest on their laurels.

Except he’s not switching them out.

They keep saying they’ve had enough and quitting.

Which indicates a whole different kind of work environment.

This bears repeating. Trumptards will rationalize but the prez keeps losing good people one after another.

Eh, there doesn't seem to be any bitterness with this one. Other than the media speculating there is, of course. Before all the staff entries and exits, back when it was candidate Trump, I suspected he was going to be a very hard-driving and extremely demanding, impatient president if he was elected. That was his reputation. Everybody, friend and foe, says he outworks everyone around him, and he likely expects these old guys, like Mattis and Tillerson and Kelly to work 18-19 hours a day, 7 days a week. If they can't, he gets upset. That may not always be the primary issue in every case, but I bet it's usually part of it.
