I'm wondering just how secure is the "secure erase" feature on the MAC?

My error. Should have stated "Secure Empty Trash" which is actual title. However, to my mind, this title equals or means secure erasure.

Secure Empty Trash deletes the data and then writes over the data with random information. Data could probably be recovered with some hi-tech means. But, for the most part, it's gone and not salvageable.

Hope you didn't Secure Empty Trash some important document you want to get back.
