Did M&Ms used to be different? My wife says they may have M on both sides now (sorry, we don't have any handy).

Also, she says the M is applied differently. She and I can remember being able to "feel" the M with my tongue, but she says this is no longer the case.

I don't know the answer to the question, my conservative buddy - but I will point out that M&M has out in my area a new chocolate bar. It's like a Nestle's crunch except that embedded in the bar are those mini-MMs instead of rice. It is very good. My wife chewed out my fat butt for buying one. I should eat something more low cal and healthy.

I would have to agree with your wife on the application of the "M" gwalch. These days script is sprayed on, instead of appliqued(wicked) on. Can't guarantee it, but it appears to be so with emmyems.:)

That's what prompted my question. We saw a commercial for it and when they dropped the M&Ms on the bar they all landed "M side up". I said that was very unlikely and Mrs. G said she thinks they put Ms on both sides now (cue Judie Blue Eyes ;)).

In response to your question, I was forced to open up a bag of M&Ms and the M is only on one side. Also, the "m" has been "spray painted" (ie. not raised) for as long as I can remember.

    Dear gwalchmai,

Something in my memory says that at one time the "m" could be felt on the top of the candy shell. My memory's probably wrong but they might have also at one time had two "m"s on the same side. I don't know about their having "m"s on both sides now though as it's been months since I've bought a bag. Since other people say they haven't seen them printed on both sides my guess is that they either made some special ones for the commercials or else used computer graphics so that all of them would have an "m" in the top. Stay safe, Gary

I wonder if it would be infringing on their trade make, if I started producing W&Ws?
