I decided to get back into AR's after a few year hiatus, and I came across this interesting specimen. It's an LWRC M6A2, short gas piston.

Anyone else own one of these?

I've got a 16" 5.56 M6A3 with about 700 rounds through it. Runs like a Glock. A little heavy, though.

Seems light to me. My unofficial scale shows 8 pounds as shown.

Very nice piston rifle... fit and finish is comparable to tier one. Also possess all the sought after mfg processes that top tier makers employ... and a Ni/Corr treated barrel - not chrome. Note the FF quad rail top half removal - secured by 2x thumb screws & 6x rail slots.

2Cats is correct... its a little on the heavy side, especially with the VLTOR Emod - which adds another 1.75" to total length collapsed - compared to an LMT defender standard at 6.7lb and 31.5" collapsed...

How light does it need to be for you girls?

    Just kidding !!!!!!!

It just doesn't seem heavy to me. But then again, my Ruger Super Blackhawk .454 doesn't seem all that heavy to me either...

A2 does not equal A3. I haven't weighed mine, but everyone says the A3's weigh more. It seems like its heavier than every other AR I pick up. Something else I've left unquantified is the balance - it certainly is not heavy on the stock side, regardless of what its actual weight is.

LWRCs are some of the BEST ARs you can buy. Congrats!

Anyone use one of these doo-dads?

Not sure if I like it or not yet. Attaches to the bolt release, and lets me release it with my trigger finger. Maybe I'm old school.....maybe I'll grow into it.

I just bought the exact same rifle a few weeks ago...dealer threw in the LWRC tactical gun case for free, too. I'm loving it!

oops, after rereading your question: sights are still the stock Troy folding sights, no changes for me
