I've been looking for a light weight 1911 commander in 9mm and can only find a Dan Wesson.

Did Colt every make one? Or does anyone else know of another option?

    Thanks!

Yes, I had one and like a damn fool, let it go.

Caspian makes a titanium frame and fusion makes an aluminum one if you feel like building.

That would be fun. I have no qualms about building one.

Apparently I should have done more research- thank you! I just never see a used one for sale anywhere.

    Thanks for the reply!

I would at least look at the Colt Defender in 9mm. Have one and it is impressive.

I'll have to do that. It's a little shorter than I want but I'll try and get some hands on time with one- thanks!

Para Makes a version of a Lightweight Commander in 9MM. As I recall it had a ramped 4 1/4" barrel.

I don't like any of Kimbers configurations. I checked out a few.

Boise Gun Company just had two shipped in yesterday. If you want one, I'm sure they can ship it to your local FFL.

We all know .38 Super is superior to 9mm in a 1911.....

Well at least I know it :)

I have always liked the Kimber 9mm Tactical Pro II, that a sweet 1911 IMO.

I like Kimbers, but there's not one that fits what I want exactly. I'd rather get an old Colt.

I've never tried a .38 Super. I'll have to check out ammo cost and see if I can rent one at my local range.

    :agree:

The 38 super round was made for the 1911, after all. :)

Ammo cost is reasonable. No more expensive than the .45ACP.

For best prices on the Super buy ammo in bulk online. I've never seen 38Super in Walmart.

only one gun shop carries .38 supper around my area and they are notorious for having high prices on everything.
