Looks like the bottom of the face mask market has dropped significantly.

Well, no not really. Lots and lots of people have died due to infectious disease. Stemming the tide is not an unreasonable response during a pandemic.

The only people that spit, cough, or sneeze on other people are toddlers. It's not a big problem unless you're around little kids.

Sure the mask will trap saliva and moisture, quickly becoming saturated with germs. Then the dutiful mask-wearer touches their cootie-laden mask and transfers it all to everything they touch. I see this everywhere I go. People wearing a mask, adjusting it, then touching door handles, credit card machines, counter tops. I see mask-wearing food workers touching their mask, readjusting it with their glove-wearing hands, then serving food.

Just wash your hands, it will save you a lot of trouble.

I think you worry too much. That's fine though. Just don't expect me to mask up and we will get along just fine. Live and let live.

I'm not worried. I'm simply explaining that masks help prevent the spread of saliva because that appears to be a complete mystery to many folks.

BLM masks work!....... MAGA masks do not....
You can’t catch COVID while rioting (err Protesting) but you will get COVID while at work, Church or a Republican rally.

Heard it on the MSM..... must be true.

You don't understand how virus transmission works...
They don't fly around on their own like a mosquito

Here is a very good article, with data, to help in understanding.
    https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/6/36/eabd3083.full

TLDR, surgical masks work, not as good as an N95, but still they help...

Of course, I do realize it's impossible to
understand this, if you are actively trying not to....

And you should probably read some more ..
The mask shown by the OP is a standard 3 ply non woven surgical mask, not a fabric mask.https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2020/06/4...s-heres-science-behind-how-face-masks-prevent

As long as you don't expect me to follow the speed limits or stay on my side of the road. Rules of Public Safety....just stay home if you're scared.

I don’t expected other drivers to not speed or stay in their lanes. That is why I drive defensively. I have seen you (the plural, generic you) drive. Why would I expect you to follow the road rules. I have seen evidence that you do not.

In all cases “you” above is the plural generic form, not calling you personally out for the quality of your driving.

None of which removes the fact that driving at reasonable speeds on your own side of the road is a good idea.

Everybody is quick to defend their rights but not so fast to admit that there are also responsibilities.

No, I've not seen anyone removing a mask to cough. People must just particularly stupid in your neck of the woods.

Again, masks are recommended (or required) in instances where one can't social distance. Hard to stay six feet away from, say, a barber, while he's cutting your hair.

What about that ‘spit hood‘ they used in NY? Maybe just trying to prevent virus transfer.

If he knows he has it right? Asymptomatic cases are certainly being reported.
