I have a G20, 40cal and G29 10mm, I also have a sig 45acp, with a 22 LR adapter, but the adapter jams once in a while. Looking for a better carry gun, smaller. THinking either the 45acp or the G26, G43, of G44, I have a blue label price to use.

Welcome. Try out some different models and see what you think. The G26 is somewhat small (not my favorite, though) so may be a good choice or maybe one of the new single stacks.

Don’t carry a gun in 22 LR unless a medical condition prevents you from using a centerfire caliber.

The Glock 43 has more recoil than the Glock 26. Recoil on the 48 is more than the 19; I expect the 43X and 43 to be the same.

See my carry recommendations in the other thread. You should be able to carry the G23 or G29 without a problem. If you cannot, then the problem is your technique and/or gear.

Are you morbidly obese? This can be a problem, but the G23 and a spare mag will fit in a Dillon Plan B.

If not, then you need to research holsters and gear. “Research” means...you are not going to like this...spending a few thousand dollars on carry rigs until you find one you like. You could skip to the end and just buy a Milt Sparks Criterion with snaps for the G23, 29, and SIG P220 along with two IPS and two S4C mag holders for each. Get a good 1.5” belt from them and you are set for about 20-25 years.

My recommendation is to start with the Glock 23. Get the rig I mentioned. Acquire some shirts one size larger that are not tapered. Give it a full year of carry and attend at least one two day defensive pistol course. Ignore the other guns except for range plinking. Get serious about carrying; carry the one gun, train with it, and reassess next year. You will learn quite a bit in that year that you cannot get from a long string of one hour range sessions.

I generally dont have recoil issues, I have a large frame SW 460, it shoots over 400 grains, its a handfull to say the least, the g44 was just a highly cheap shooting plinker, maybe I'll go back to a ruger mark 2 for that stuff, Im tossed up between a g27 and g30sf right now, since I have a blue label price to use i might as well get it.

The G30SF is a wide G23. Go with the 27 if you think the 23 is too big. But, you may like the 26 better with faster followup shots.
