    Hello All,
I have recently read "One Man's Wilderness - An Alaskan Oddessy" and enjoyed it greatly. Does anyone know any other good books in this style? Anything about Shackleton or others in the wilderness of Alaska etc?

    Thanks in advance
    Phil

I asked a backpacker friend a similar question, and he reccommended Tom Brown's Nature Observation and Tracking. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, but it's gotten good reviews. I hear you have to weave through some mysticism, the author is a Native American and very 'one with nature' or whatever. Keep meaning to check it out.

There's a book called Arctic Homestead that I am about to order. Haven't read it yet but it seemed to get good reviews. Check it out on the Barnes & Noble site (I'm sure amazon has it too).
