    I have a Glock Model 22 in .40 which I purchased approximately 10 or
12 years ago (pre-ban). I have probably only put appx 3000 or 4000
rounds through it, but honestly, have probably not taken very good
care of it. (It went through a three year period without being shot
or cleaned in a safe which was not humidity controlled). Because I
plan on using this weapon as my primary home defense weapon, I would
like to have it professionally checked, overhauled (replace springs,
etc.), cleaned and lubed by a good Glock Certified Armoror. Any
suggestions here in the Houston area?

    Thanks!!!

Try calling Fountain Firearms. I remember picking up some spare parts for my G22 a while back. I'm sure someone there is a Glock certified armorer. They are a stand up shop.

IMO Glocks are very easy to work on as far as replacing internals. That's the beauty of Glocks. They function 100% and easy to work on.

Jack Trippet usually hits the gun shows in Houston and his prices are reasonable.

I recently bought a slightly neglected Glock that was made in 1982. I found plenty of information on the web to detail strip it and replace some of the parts. They are super easy to work on. My 1982 Glock is now extremely reliable and accurate.

I'm in Victoria, but if you want to bring it down here, I will go over it with you there watching for no charge. IF it needs any new parts (which I doubt) you can pay for just those...

I enjoy rescuing Glocks from neglect and abuse.

But you have to promise not to abuse it anymore!

E-mail bdowns@tisd.net if interested. (I am a certified Glock armorer.)

    Take Care,
    BKD

    Gentlemen!

Thank you so much for your responses! Thank you especially BKD for your generous offer help bring my Model 22 back from its sad state...

I've had someone offer the advice of first sending it to Glock in Smyrna and they may fix it for free under warranty. I'm going to try that first and see where that takes me...

    Thanks again!

Glock will replace any springs or worn parts free, but shipping the Glock to them will probably cost you more than the cost of the parts. Anybody who can read and understand the English language can learn how to remove and replace every part in a Glock in just a few minutes. I can't fathom sending any of my Glocks back, short of a KB.
