    A few years back I had the link to a fascinating set of two police videos showing the same chase of a suspect. The suspect parks his car and one video shows murder by police, and the other, same event, different squad camera, shows officer acting in self-defense. The point of the two videos was to show that eyewitness testimony can well be skewed by the perspective of the view etc.

    Does anyone by chance have that link...

    I want to know how many times he was actually hit. One CNS hit would be my bet, but I did not see much (if any) reaction to most of the shots. Must have been using 9mm :rofl:

    Yup...that is it. One shows what appears in an unprovoked shooting...the other angle shows the reason.

    I love this video and I show it fairly often when I teach classes. Once you view it, it makes you think much more objectively when hear a police news story or only see a 5-10 second clip on the news. It makes you a more educated viewer instead of allowing yourself to be spoon-fed a biased version of events by a media spinning the story.

    It's also a good video to show for use of deadly force instruction - makes you realize that you have to have a plan in place other than just pulling the trigger once. Pulling the trigger once doesn't always put an end to the fight; shot placement, continue firing til the thread ends, find cover & concealment.

    Good video :cop::thumbsup:

    I bet the officers are still grateful for the second video since it actually shows him present the cell phone like it is a gun. The other video leaves the officers actions open for interpretation had that original act, which showed why they reacted as such, not been on tape.

    I see the first cop shooting 5 or 6 times with no effect and a convenience store in the line of fire. 7 or 8 rounds fired with the dropping round fired at very close range.
    Can he not shoot decently or is he hitting with woosie ammo?

    No...that is simply the way the body reacts to gun shots. In the movies that guy would have went flying away through the glass of the store. In real life it does not work that way.

    That would be a valid argument if the same thing had not happened with every other handgun caliber in existence.

    Killing with a handgun is as much luck as anything else. There are many vital areas that will kill, just not immediately. Inside those vital areas there are some very small spots that are basically 'off switches'. You hit one of those and it will shut the body down, if you don't you get something similar to the video, someone who dies 60 seconds later.

    I have seen someone who was dropped like a rock after one .25 to the chest. I have seen someone take 7 from a .45 only to be released from the hospital 8 days later.

    Caliber wars are fun, shot placement is important, but it is pretty much luck as to what is hit inside the body which determines the reaction.
