I notice when Im shooting at targets further than 15 yrds that the stock sights are to thick to get an accurate lock on a target.
Is there anything available or recommended sights I could replace the stock ones with?

You may want to look for sights that have a thinner front sight than the stock Glock sights - Heinies or Warren Tacticals would be my suggestion.

Look at Ameriglo as well. I like them because they are not as tall as Heinie's.

For fixed sights, Heinies have proven to be the most accurate to me. I now have a set of Dawson fiber optic adjustables on my 17L and they are shooting very well at 25 and 50 yards.

I am currently using the plain Heinie Slant Pro rear with a Dawson fiber optic front (.105 x .225) They are precise. IIRC factory front sight width is .125" or so. Pretty thick.
I'm going to try a set of Sevigny competition sights in a new few weeks.

I believe the best advice is to stick with your Glock sights and just keep practicing.

Hammerhead, does the Dawson Fiber Optic front sight extend over the frame cutout of your 17L? I'm looking for some adjustable sights for my wife's 17L. Doesn't need to be night sights.

No, the rear of the front sight is just short of the cutout in the slide.
The Dawson's sit kinda' high, but on a 17L it seems right. You may want to order the higher of the two front sight heights. I bought the set with the lower front and I had to crank the rear all the way down to get zeroed at 25 yards.

We have Heinies, DP, Bomar and Warren all with thinner more precise fronts, all are good choices.

I never had a problem. You could try fiber optic sights. I hate skinny sights.

Also note that the Dawson sights are not true fiber optics, just clear, tinted plastic. My freinds muzzleloader F/O sights are much brighter, but I still like my Dawsons.

Thanks DannyR, I didn't realize what a wide range of products they have.
I'm ordering an H&K sight pusher from them tonight!

Try Bo-Mars model that fits in existing dovetail.

FWIW, Dawson's front F/Op sights are true fiber optic rod sights.......
