Thanks to his anti-hunting neighbor going on vacation I finally managed to hunt my buddy's backyard in Vienna. He's right off Beaulah Road near route 7.

I got in to position at 10:30 am and found this guy in my crosshairs at 10:54. 30 yards even. Couldn't freakin believe it. He's almost 11 points, except he broke off one of the center tines. The rack is otherwise pretty huge! He was about 170 pounds (and I felt every one of them dragging him up the steep hill!). When I went over the ridge to find the animal, there was another huge buck walking around at the bottom of the hill.

I love Northern Virginia! I can't believe we are still allowed to archery hunt this much in Fairfax (and now Loudoun and Faquier, too). The soccer moms have not yet taken over.
