In another thread there have been questions raised about hunting deer with a .40 caliber Glock. These laws vary from state to state, so I'm wondering what difference a longer barrel might make in a Gen 2 Glock 23. Looking at the Glock website, the barrel from a G35 is 5.31" and the length of a G24 barrel is 6.02". Has anyone ever chronographed some loads from these barrels? Would either of these barrels work with my G23? I'm currently CC-ing Federal HST 180 grain hollow points in my 23 and plan to use the same loads in a new G27 I'll be picking up this fall. A G27 was used for the Lucky Gunner get tests and it performed quite well, so I'm hoping the extra barrel length might get the terminal performance up there for clean kills on whitetail deer from inside 30-40 yards. Thanks for the input.
